A few days ago we reported about some new information from the official Japanese website for Zelda U. Essentially, the information claimed there was a new Link and, more interestingly, a new villain. As with anything that requires translations, mistakes do happen. We trusted MyNintendoNews with the initial translation, but, in doing our own research with our translation team (combined with our own fanbase), we can confirm there is zero confirmation if there will be a new villain or not, or even if this is a new Link.
However, what we did learn is also rather exciting depending upon how you want to slice it. Here’s what it actually says:
“In an endless world without barriers, the biggest one in the series yet, Link will encounter new mysteries and tough enemies.”
This may not be as exciting as we initially thought, but it’s still rather interesting to think we’ll be playing a Zelda game that will feel like the world has no end and no barriers. I deeply apologize if any of you feel misinformed, and I’ll be contacting the initial source of the quotes to let them know of the mistake. Unfortunately it is hard to know who to trust when it comes to translations, but thankfully you can rest easy knowing our own team (who was gone at the time of the initial post) and our fan base are much more knowledgeable with translations than it seems some other places are. It took us a few days, but we finally got it right. Thank you to all the fans who also helped try and sort this out with us. You guys are simply the best.
So, what do you think of the correct quote?
