Our mission statement has always been: “At Zelda Reorchestrated, we are committed to lush symphonic performances of the greatest songs from The Legend of Zelda™ as they would have sounded from the warm halls and intimate expression of a live philharmonic. We do not seek profit or fame. We simply love Zelda and wish to share its inspiration on all of us with all of you.”
Zelda Reorchestrated has been a wonderful project from some of the most talented fans and musicians for nearly ten years now, culminating with the release of Twilight Symphony, one of the most impressive fan projects that gaming has ever seen. Today, however, the Zelda Reorchestrated team is preparing for one last goodbye as they part ways an move on to bigger and better things.
As Eric Buchholz mentions in the site’s farewell post, though Twilight Symphony was shipped to its Kickstarter backers, the project will not be available for widespread purchase on iTunes or otherwise. The Zelda Reorchestrated site will go dark on June 12, 2013, giving fans ample time to bid it adieu. The creative team at Zelda Reorchestrated is composed of many talented, intelligent, and exciting people, and I wish each and every one of you the best in your future endeavors.
News like this is always more than words can express, but we should look back on the wonderful experiences that Zelda Reorchestrated has offered us as fans. I encourage you to read the team’s official closing words and reflect fondly upon their bright presence in the Zelda community. Though none can bring the same charm to the phrase like the legendary Beedle, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
