Koei Tecmo’s Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 for the Nintendo 3DS will feature Link and Zelda as costumes, both based on their respective Hyrule Warriors forms. The two will be ready to hack and slash their way through Japan’s Warring States period when the game drops in Japan on December 4th. A demo is also downloadable from the Japanese 3DS eShop starting today, November 6th. There is no word on whether the game will be released overseas, but it is not out of the question…

Koei Tecmo and Nintendo’s jointly created Zelda game, Hyrule Warriors, has seen a decent amount of success in its sales. In the company’s latest financial earnings Q&A, Koei Tecmo was pleased to announce that sales of the game were on track in Japan and above expectations overseas. They couldn’t say the exact number of copies sold, since Nintendo handled publishing in the West, but sales are looking good…

For those holding out for all the sages from Ocarina of Time to be playable in Hyrule Warriors, it looks like your prayers are being answered, at least partially. Ruto and Darunia have been confirmed alongside Sheik to be playable characters in Hyrule Warriors. NabooruRauru, and Saria still have not been confirmed.

The news comes from Famitsu’s website where a small snippet of the magazine can be seen detailing Sheik. New weapons for Impa and Lana were also detailed in the magazine, and collectible Gold Skulltulas were also mentioned to be appearing in Hyrule Warriors. This is currently all we know about the scan from Famitsu. We’ll keep you updated with more news as it becomes available.

We already stated previously that Ghirahim and The Imprisoned were spotted in the the new issue of Famitsu, but it seems there were more details people didn’t take notice of! Yes, it appears that the Master Sword will appear with Fi‘s return, but it will first appear as the Goddess SwordLink will also gain the Hero’s Bow and it will be based off its Skyward Sword design.

Skyloft will be making an appearance as a playable stage from the looks of things and so will the Sealed Temple, but in a flatter and seemingly wider design. The Gate of Time seems to be behind Ghirahim in one screen from the scans, but he does not appear to be playable. In addition a Heart Container and item pouch can be seen as items the player can obtain on the field. It seems items can also be upgraded as the Hero’s Bow changes design in two different screens. We’ll have more details shortly. Head on past the jump to see the scans!

There’s a 100% chance that we all saw this coming. It was stated earlier yesterday that there was a high chance of a new fighter in Hyrule Warriors, and sure enough that turned out to be true.. it just happened a bit sooner than expected. Fi, the “spirit” of the Master Sword that was introduced to us in Skyward Sword (finally, something not from Twilight Princess) will be making her way into Hyrule Warriors.

In addition, Link will be swinging around his familiar Ball & Chain weapon that was introduced in Twilight Princess. It’s not 100% the same as Link now carries around some fancy new gloves, perhaps the Power Gloves/Gauntlets, while using the weapon. Zelda appears to have a new weapon as well. It appears to be the Wind Waker and it creates wind based attacks along with what appears to be a music scale. Another possibility is for Zelda to be using a staff/pole as a weapon. Head past the jump for more!
