NOTE: Later on in the game you will need an Ancient Flower. They can appear anywhere in Lanayru where timeshifting (Explained later) causes grass to appear. It's a plain looking, purple flower. Make sure to pick one up if you spot it.

This might be a good time to visit Beedle's flying shop. For 150 rupees you can get the Bug Net and a wallet upgrade.

Bug Net
Location: Beedle's Airshop
Functions: Catch insects
Upgrades: Big Bug Net

How to obtain: Purchase for 50 Rupees

Description: This is a basic net for catching bugs. Once you capture one, it gets added to your Collection Screen and you can use it as an ingredient for special Potions!

Go to the Goddess Statue as before, and place the tablet onto the altar. The way to Lanayru Desert will open. Dive through the opening to reach the starting area.

Drop down and go around the back to find a Goddess Cube. Continue onward and you'll run into an old minecart. Push it all the way into the hole.

Once the minecart is down, you'll have to first pull it for a bit to get it away from the wall before you can push it the rest of the way, and climb out of the hole.

As you continue you'll find another minecart, push it as far as it can go then enter the camber ahead. Hit the crystal in the middle of the room. Jump into the cart that you just pushed to ride it into another cave.

Throw a bomb into the basket of the statue to open up a path. Note that in order to get across the sand you'll have to sprint.

Sprint your way across this room and push the minecart into the sunny spot. Go up the slope and roll a bomb to the far end of the sand corridor (You can't cross it). Use the Beetle to hit the crystal. Continue forward, then left. Take the Goddess Plume from the chest, then head back.

Ride the minecart in the big chamber. Once outside, and done with the introduction, walk down to the central area.

Ampilus
Type: Electrically-Charged Hermit Crab
Location: Lanayru Desert
Varieties: None
Attacks: Electric Wheel
Effective Weapons: Sword, Bombs

Strategy: Ampiluses are crabs that once inhabited the Lanayru sea... but in the centuries since they've evolved and become electrified! They roll around in their round shells to attack. If they touch you they'll zap you and then come around for another pass. They're quite fast, and none of your melee or projectile weapons seem to be able to penetrate that carapace...

Get as close to the center as possible, to the four cages. One of them has a rock inside, and an opening on top. Spring up the nearby broken wall with the chest on it, and from there jump onto the closest cage. From here you can throw a bomb into the previously mentioned cage with an opening. This will reveal a timeshift crystal. Throw another bomb to activate it.

Technoblin
Type: Mechanized Goblin Warrior
Location: Lanayru Desert
Varieties: None
Attacks: Electric Sword
Effective Weapons: Sword

Strategy: The Bokoblins who have invaded the desert region have also laid hold of much of the old technology there, including electrically-charged swords and gadget-equipped armor. Strike their swords with yours and you'll get zapped, leaving you open to attack. You'll have to be precise to win!

Talk to the robot once the Technoblins are dead to receive the upgraded Beetle.

Go a bit west, to the patch of quicksand that has an Electro Spume in it. Use the Hook Beetle to throw the Bomb Flower on top of the tree into the three statues along the walls, creating a means to get to the other side.

Turn left, and using the Hook Beetle and the bomb on the tree, kill the Ampilus in front of you. Sprint to its shell and use it as a platform to regenerate your stamina. Repeat this process to reach the Goddess Cube on the left, and finally the path on the right.

Once you reach the Temple of Time, there'll be a timeshift crystal on the right side, which will activate the minecart closest to you. Cross over and use the Hook Beetle to throw the bomb from the cactus into the hollow tree in the middle of the area. Before you ride the cart through the tree use the Beetle to activate the switch in the tunnel to open the gate. Be wary of the Deku Baba in the tunnel.

Once you're on the other side, use the Hook Beetle and the bomb on the tree to blow up the rocks on the two pillars. One of them will have a timeshift crystal underneath. Activate it and talk to the robot.

After the robot moves away, use te Hook Beetle to hit the timeshift stone in the little opening below the Goddess Cube. Ride the cart next to the robot to the other side, hitting the Goddess Cube as you move. Go through the tunnel once you're on the other side.

As you reach the quicksand, start sprinting left. Fi will notice that you can walk on this area, and if you look at the map, you'll see a network of paths below the sand. Start walking towards the center of the area, and the part where the wall starts emerging from the sand in the form of a slope. Now go left and break the stones on the path in front of the ancient mechanism to reveal a timeshift stone.

Now you'll have the ability to search for the three remote power nodes. Go west now until ou see 3 statues along the wall. Using the hidden path make your way to the one that is tipped over and break the wall where the crack is to reveal another timeshift stone.

Once it's active, throw a bomb into the middle statue to tip it over and reveal the first power node. Stab it with the sword and turn it counter clockwise 90 degrees. Press A to push it in.

Next go to the northern-most part of the area, and blow up the crack in the wall. Ignore the two Ampilus in here and blow up the rock in the middle of the room. Hit the timeshift stone underneath. One of the Ampilus will have reverted to its egg form, at the far side of the room. Go there, and stand on the pressure plate that's part of the electric device on the wall. Fi will say that you need a power source to get it working, and a small slot will open up at the bottom. Using the Hook Beetle, grab the Ampilus egg and carry it inside of the slot. You can also hit it with your sword when it's not generating electricity. Activate the power node in the same fashion as the last one.

Go out and head further east. The hidden path leads inbetween three Electro Spumes, across the patch of grass. Make your way to the building on the east with a save statue next to the entrance. Once inside, blow up the rock in the middle of the room to reveal a timeshift stone, but don't activate it yet.

Instead, move forward to the furthest platform possible, and kill the Ampilus. Ride its shell to the other side of the room, the activate the timeshift stone using the Beetle. Now use the Beetle again to bring over one Ampilus egg and put it in the power slot of the door mechanism. Enter and activate the power node the same way as the previous two. Climb the crates along the wall to get back and out of the building.

Now that all three nodes are active, go back to the main power generator. Stick the sword in and look at your map - thee symbols appeared on the locations of the three power nodes. You need to set the three dials so that the symbols on the dials correspond to the locations of the symbols on the map. The mining facility will rise up from the sand and you'll be able to get inside.
