Senior Director of Merchandising at GameStop, Eric Bright, recently discussed the Nintendo Switch’s impressive launch with Game Rant. In the interview, Bright mentioned that the console has “one of the highest attach rates of software and accessories” he’s seen in awhile and that because of this GameStop is preparing new Switch bundles. Attributing some of the console’s success to the popularity of Breath of the Wild, Bright said the company is in the process of creating a Zelda themed bundle. “We’re seeing…

Switch users, how many gigs of data have you spent on taking funny pictures of Link? If there answer is “more than you want to admit,” then you might be worried about how many funny screenshots your Switch can hold. That mystery can be solved right now. The Switch does have a limit to how many screenshots it can hold, and that limit is 1,000. That seems like a lot of room to work with, but if you run out of…

Warning: Spoilers ahead. Are you trying to upgrade your amiibo armor sets in Breath of the Wild? Do you find yourself constantly needing Star Fragments? BeardBear on YouTube has a handy, step-by-step guide to farming them, and the process seems to take just a few minutes per cycle. Players will effectively be resting until the moon is full, saving and quitting, then loading their file and watching for a shooting star to land. The player can then travel to that location to…

I don’t know about you, but I certainly have had my fair share of problems when it comes to the left joycon. When docked, it seems that I have to be in the right position and the stars have to align perfectly for me to not have any problems with it. Most of the time is harmless, but sometimes, it causes me to die in Breath of the Wild or The Binding of Isaac. Nintendo has stated that this is due to…

Warning: Spoilers ahead. Do you find yourself with a constant shortage of arrows in Breath of the Wild? Do you just want to farm some arrows ahead of time? Either way, BeardBear on YouTube has uploaded a video tutorial that is sure to get you a good number of arrows when you need them. Players glide into the middle of some horseback Bokoblins near the Grinnden Plains, tilt the camera, and simply pick up the arrows fired by the Bokoblins. The method is…

Have you found a weapon you thought was overpowered in Breath of the Wild, only for it to break within a couple of fights? Ceave Gaming over on YouTube has uploaded a video that may explain the reasoning behind this. It was uploaded as part of Ceave Gaming’s “Deconstructing Game Design” series, in which odd or unique game mechanics are given contextual explanations by comparing them to similar titles. Ceave gives Skyrim‘s leveled enemies and loot/the Witcher 3‘s leveled areas as different ways game developers…

One mechanic in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a pretty awesome ability of Link’s, namely snowboarding (shieldboarding?) down a mountain. During this sequence, everyone’s favorite Hylian actually looks like he pulls off a few tricks, 1080°-style, and does a pretty good job of it too, I gotta say. The sporting world isn’t as foreign to the Zelda series as you might think. Link appeared (and will appear again on Switch) in Mario Kart 8 as an unlockable racer, and we all…

All of my fellow Zelda fans up in the Great White North, rejoice! Nintendo of Canada revealed today that the Legend of Zelda themed locked room experience, The Legend of Zelda: Defenders of the Triforce, will be expanding to include some Canadian dates. The tour so far has announced stops in Ottawa, Edmonton, and (most importantly for me) Calgary. While ticket prices and dates weren’t revealed, Nintendo did say to check back on March 23rd for more information.   As…

In a recent announcement from Nintendo, they have confirmed a renewed partnership with the party gaming vehicle company GameTruck. For those who don’t know, GameTruck is a company who specializes in delivering party entertainment of both the indoor and outdoor variety. Because of the release of the Switch, Nintendo has decided to bring back their partnership with this company. As of this announcement, over a hundred GameTruck vehicles will now feature Switch games including 1-2-Switch, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe (once…

One of the only complaints I have with Breath of the Wild is the inability to dive underwater. In the grand scheme of the game, this tiny problem doesn’t even bother me that much. But sometimes that water just looks so clear and pleasing I want to dive down into it. For one player, this dream became a reality… sort of. Twitter user Swiffy22 posted a series of tweets where he discovered a glitch that makes Link walk underwater. This isn’t exactly swimming, as the video clearly shows Link walking…
