It’s hard to believe we are coming up on Zelda Informer’s 5th anniversary in just a couple months, and it’s even harder to believe that we are where we are today from our humble beginnings. This year we will be sending at least 3, if not 5, people to E3 in order to provide the best hands on coverage we possibly can. It’s the most we have ever sent to the big show, and we will be attending other similar events the world over in years to come. The point is, all of you have made this a reality for us. What you have also made a utter reality for us is that the bigger we become, the more we have to do.
That’s why we are running our first true “massive hiring spree” of the year. We are looking to improve in all areas of the site, and chief among them of course is the News Correspondents position. As you may have noticed today, this is the first post of the day and that’s because our staff is extremely busy with their lives. That, and it’s become a consistent problem the last few months of any of us being available between 10am and 4pm central standard time. That’s why we are looking for people to fill that void, specifically if you are available between those hours. Also because we are sending more people to E3 this year, it naturally means we need more people to help us handle all the E3 news coverage.
To apply, send an email to webmaster@zeldainformer.com with your name, age, experience (if any), and reason you think you make an excellent addition to our team. We technically have no age requirements, but a post HS writing level is highly appreciated. Of course, that’s not all we are looking for. As an example, we are also looking to hire a Podcast Manager and Editor.
The idea here is we have a lot of people that want to participate in a weekly podcast (recorded on Saturdays, live on Mondays), and a ton of ideas for how we want it ran, what sort of topics, etc. What we lack, however, is someone to come in and Manage and Edit everything together. Grant it, this is a big job so it can be handled by more than one or two people, but the point is we need a couple people at most to make sure this gets done that isn’t named Nathanial Rumphol-Janc. They have to be able to keep in contact, get ahold of people to fill in at the last minute if needed, make sure the recordings happen on schedule and that the editing is complete in time for Mondays. The shows will only be about 30 minutes long - just long enough to talk about whatever we want while not losing the interest of the listeners. This is a big project, and as such, a creative, yet calm and collected mind is needed to keep it going.
Another position we are looking to fill is a couple “VLoggers”, aka, we want to start a couple video shows. This means we need people with the capability to edit videos quickly, along with people who can record themselves doing things like reporting on news, talking about an important topic be it Zelda related, mario, etc, or naturally just someone who can entertain people in general with video game related goodness (parodies, etc). We presently don’t have any plans for such shows, only that we want to expand our video presence and start a couple shows we think could really boost us in that regard if done well.
All of these positions are VOLUNTEER BASED. I don’t get paid for this. No one gets paid for this job. We do it for the love of what we do, and despite being a volunteer job we do have high expectations of our workers, and if you are unable to multitask than none of these positions may fit you since you have to find a way to balance the work you do for us with your jobs, schooling, and social life. It’s not easy, but it’s well worth it. Zelda Informer is a credible resume filler, and it has previously help boost one of our top writers into a position at the #1 gaming magazine in Australia. Point is, what we do here has an impact not just on our viewers, but on our own lives as well.
To apply, send your resume, and/or credentials, to webmaster@zeldainformer.com
