Good news for anyone who still hasn’t gotten around to picking up The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (people who want it and haven’t gotten it still exist?) - the game’s set to go on sale for a limited time for $20 at Kmart. It’s a pretty legendary deal for one of the best Wii games yet.
However, it’s not every day that we see a fairly new Nintendo game go on sale for so low a price, so part of me wonders whether this is more than just a good deal. Could it be an indication that the game’s on its way to the bargain bin? I’ve heard reports from a few people suggesting that some retailers have already slashed the prices of their excess shipments. It wouldn’t be the first time this happened to a Zelda game - Spirit Tracks shared the same fate - but it’d be a first for a console entry, much less a big Nintendo holiday game.
There’s no hiding the fact that the game didn’t sell nearly as well as Nintendo had hoped, but is Skyward Sword really the first key series entry to lose its prestige in just a few short months? If you’ve heard anything about other bargain bin deals, share your experiences in the comments.
