After a few solid years of having little to no entries in their favorite genre on Wii, 2012 is set to be a big year for the genre. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword hit stores last holiday, and while I realize it’s not necessarily an RPG as much as an action-adventure, it still retains a lot of the same qualities that draw people to role-playing adventures such as a strong story and a power-enhancing equipment system. Not only that, but two games from Operation Rainfall’s bucket list - Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story - are coming to America within the next couple of months.
Each of these games is already out in the wild in Europe, so Nintendo Europe’s put together a trailer showcasing all of them in order to spread the news that Wii’s definitely got the ball in its court in terms of compelling RPG experiences. Check it out below:
