Nintendo may not be announcing a price for the Wii U at E3 this year, but Walmart seems to think they know what the upcoming console will cost.
Walmart has recently begun listing advertisements, through Google, for the Wii U at a list price $349, despite the fact that no price has been or will be confirmed until later this year, possibly several months from now.
While $350 may have seemed like a good price when the system was unveiled last year, ever since the 3DS launch problem, and subsequent price drop, this has seemed too high. Most industry analysts, gaming sites, and many of the staff here at ZI have our bets set on $300.
Of course, this is all just guess work. No one really knows anything, and that includes Walmart.
