• New Super Mario Bros 2 is Nintendo’s big push for digital video game distribution,  starting a new business decision of releasing retail titles on the eShop. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and Paper Mario: Sticker Star will also be available for download when they release in the coming months. Third parties are also encouraged to put their titles on the eShop as well; however, Nintendo is taking this tactic one step further, putting previously released retail games up on their digital store as well!

Both Super Mario 3D Land and MarioKart 7 will be up for download on the eShop eventually, giving the hint that more retail games will be on the way. This was revealed when a GBAtemp user did a scan of Nintendo’s CDN, the server that hosts the eShop, showing off IDs of the two games for Europe.

Would you download retail games? Are you sick of Nintendo’s push for their distribution? Sound off in the comments.
