• While North America will not be getting a special edition 3DS handheld in honor of the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, like in Japan, we’ll still have our chance to get our hands on some collective Kingdom Hearts swag.

Square Enix announced earlier today that a special collector’s edition of the game will be made available as well.

This special collector’s edition, also known as the Mark of Mastery edition, of the Nintendo 3DS title will include a metal case, a branded skin cover, twelve art cards featuring art from games throughout the series, five AR cards, and a 360° viewing stand for the AR cards

The AR cards will allow players to unlock rare Dream Eaters such as Meowjesty, Frootz Cat and Kab Kannon.

The Mark of Mastery edition of Kingdom Hearts 3D will retail for $54.99, starting July 31st.

Unfortunately for European Kingdom Hearts fans, Square Enix has since revealed on their Twitter that they currently have no plans for a European release of this Mark of Mastery edition. However, this doesn’t mean they don’t have other plans up their sleeves.
