Fan modders, rejoice! A visitor named Antidote over at Zelda Fan Game Central is working on developing a save state editor for Skyward Sword. So far the editor lets users manipulate what items he or she has, select Hero Mode without having to complete Normal Mode first, as well as playing around with all kinds of variables. This is one of the first gateways to the wider world of Skyward Sword fan mods, which could mean custom levels, items, and so on in the not-so-far future.For now, however, the goal is to give players an easy solution for tweaking the game to their liking. Want to play through the whole game with (or without) the sacred swords? Go right ahead. Want to get the sacred treasures without playing the Silent Realm? You can do that, too. And, of course, if you’re a masochist that way, you can also do the obvious and just skip straight to the hard difficulty.
We’ll be keeping our eye on this project, as it could lead to bigger and bolder things. Twilight Princess with Wii Motion Plus controls and Skyward Sword graphics, anyone? How about Skyward Sword with Twilight Princess textures? The possibilities are endless.
