Man, talk about dropping a bomb. Okay, so this isn't exactly what many of you may be hoping. No, Skull Kid is not playable in Smash Bros.—sorry folks. However, he will be available as an Assist Trophy, as we just found out from the screenshot of the day. Here's the direct quotation in regards to the above image:
"Pic of the day. Here's a new Assist Trophy--the Skull Kid! I repeat, it's an Assist Trophy, not a new fighter. The characters announced on the website are the fighters!"
The fact clarification needed to be made about the Assist Trophy is all you probably need to know about the demand for a playable character donning Majora's Mask. Plus there is that whole Operation Moonfall thing, where folks are trying to get Majora's Mask made in 3D. Hey, lots of hints in A Link Between Worlds, Skull Kid in Smash... signs are looking good!
