SEGA has officially announced Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, a kart racer featuring Sonic and other SEGA All-Stars. Characters like AiAi from Super Monkey Ball and Gilius from Golden Axe are a few characters known to be playable for the racing extravaganza. Now, that title is a little strange, but the Transformed aspect of it refers to the adaptive vehicles the players use. They can change into cars, planes and boas depending on what they are racing on, so the tracks can change into multiple terrains.
Now, you might be wondering why we are sharing this title. Well, although it is for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation VIta, and PC Digital Download, they have also slotted it for the Nintendo 3DS. This game is very similar to our much adored Mario Kart.
The game features a new weapon system that will allow players to block and evade incoming attacks, as well as an “enhanced online multiplayer mode”, Grand Prix modes and competitive Battle Arenas. Now, before you begin saying that it is just like Mario Kart 7, there are a few differences. You don’t glide, but have full flight, and when underwater you don’t just sink to the bottom and keep going.
The game is set to come out sometime later this year. Hopefully we will see more in-game footage and information later on.
