Rumor: Could Retro be Working on a New Star Fox Game?

While this could be considered as reading way too into things, the Official Nintendo Magazine recently did an article about the history of Retro studios, and ended it with a few short sentences regarding what Retro may be working on for the future. The statement isn’t from Retro themselves, but it is possible they could have let in on a tiny secret for what their next title could be. Again, the basis for this rumor is very small, but don’t you guys think It’d make sense for Retro to work on a new Star Fox game? They did make some awesome games for both the Metroid and Donkey Kong series after all…
So, what exactly did ONM end their article with? Take a look!
While some suggest this new project is likely to be a return to the Metroid franchise, we’d love to see another Nintendo hero get the retro stamp of excellence. After all, having rolled out the barrels for Donkey Kong, perhaps it’s time Retro pulled off a barrel roll of a different kind.
Alright, so while this may not be the most concrete evidence that Retro could be working on a Star Fox game, it does make you wonder if maybe ONM know’s something we don’t, or perhaps this could just be a case of wishful thinking. Either way, the idea of a Star Fox game developed by Retro does seem tantalizing.
