If you hop to the 14:30 mark you will see the big reveal about some conversation that happened at E3 this year between Hip Hop Gamer and a Nintendo Rep. If you don’t want to watch the video (I suggest you do, more than just the 14:30 mark too. It contains a lot of great conversational value), just check the quote below.
Nintendo Reps: It would be a great exclusive addition to the Nintendo brand and something that we’re always up to discussing.
In many ways this makes a lot of sense. Sega itself isn’t doing too well and Nintendo has already been heavily involved. From Bayonetta 2 being picked up by Nintendo instead of Sega, then you have to recall Mario and Sonic olympic games, it certainly leans to the possibility of Nintendo owning Sega. Sure, in many ways I would rather nab RARE just to get the IP’s back, but in many regards it would make financial sense across the board for Nintendo to add Sega to their 2nd tier developers and gain all their exclusive content (and help them make that content as well). Sonic and Mario teaming together to lead Nintendo to the promised land? I’ll take it.
