• Blockbuster Logo Game rental company Blockbuster in the UK has listed several new and previously known Wii U titles in their computers. While they could just be speculating, there might be some truth to this listing. Somehow, I doubt that all of these games are actually coming to a Wii U near you. The games that are legitimate on this list, in my opinion, are either already known or lucky guesses based on the estimated Wii U launch window. Most games on the list are third-party titles that are likely to be released around the same time as or after the Wii U is released

Here’s the list that was found on pictures of a Blockbuster computer screen:

    • Aliens: Colonial Marines
    • Assassin’s Creed
    • Batman Arkham City
    • Console(White)
    • Damaged Consoles
    • Darksiders II
    • Dirt 3
    • Formula 1 All Stars
    • Game Party
    • Ghost Recon Online
    • Just Dance 4
    • Killer Freaks from Outer Space
    • Marvel Super Heroes
    • Metro Last Light
    • Monsters Party
    • New Super Mario Brothers Mii
    • Ninja Gaiden 3
    • Pikmin
    • Rabbids Party Land
    • Raving Rabbids
    • Rayman Legends
    • Shield Pose
    • Splinter Cell 6
    • Sports Connection (Maybe 1st Party)
    • Your Shape 2013
    • Zombie

All of the first party titles in this list are shown in bold. With the exception of the Damaged Consoles listing (I haven’t the slightest idea why they would want to sell/rent damaged consoles), we saw all of these first-party games at E3 last year. I would say that they were just putting in everything that could possibly show up, but I don’t see Chase Mii on the list, which was probably the best tech demo. I can’t see Shield Pose making it as a standalone game, but I would definitely buy Chase Mii.

The rest of the games on this list are third-party games. A few of them, like Assassin’s Creed and Darksiders II, are known Wii U titles. Most others in the list will be coming out around the Wii U’s launch and would probably be released for the Wii U. Some of the names of the games really sound like guesses, like Raving Rabbids and Zombie, because of their lack of specificity. Putting out vague names like that gives me the impression that they are grasping at straws, with no real evidence.

So, why this could be a real list of games coming to the Wii U, I find it highly unlikely. Out of all of the tech demos, they chose Shield Pose instead of the Zelda Demo or Chase Mii. Many of the third-party games on this list are guesses, with known games like Lego City Stories absent from the list. This list is bogus, but some of the games here could end up on a Wii U near you. Who knows?

What do you think of this list of games? Bogus or true? Which of these games would you play? Would any of these games make you buy the Wii U at launch?
