Square Enix RPGs are known for their excellent soundtracks, so it was essential that the company pick the right person to make the score for their upcoming 3DS title, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. Through their official website, Square Enix has just announced that the one responsible for the game’s soundtrack will be Revo, the frontman of popular Japanese band Sound Horizon.
This is not the first time that American gamers have heard Revo’s stylings in a game, though: The main theme of PS2 RPG Chaos Wars was done by Sound Horizon. That aside, it’s interesting that Square would choose someone to do the score who isn’t a dedicated video game composer. But they must have faith in him, as a full 2-disc soundtrack dubbed “Linked Horizon” will be released at around the same time as Default. Just like the game, the soundtrack has not been confirmed for a US release.
