• Nintendo has officially opened a Facebook page for the upcoming Wii U system, and will be updating it with information on the console regularly starting this E3. As of now, the timeline banner image is that of a steel vault with a glowing blue light leaking from behind the door - hinting at future information to come. The Facebook page will allow Nintendo to keep on top of announcements and assure that it has its own, easily accessible source of information and news for people to view without having to trudge through the official Nintendo site. In addition to this, the page kicks off with an official “welcome” video from Reggie himself. Are your bodies ready to “like” the Wii U? Then head on in!

First off, here is the glowing orange link to the Facebook page, where you can see the welcome video, look at the mysterious “vault” banner, and (if you’re so inclined) save the official Wii U logo to your computer for doubtlessly nefarious reasons. If you don’t want to go to the Facebook page but still wish to view the Regginator’s video (perhaps you are currently engaged in a campaign against social media sites, or simply despise the color combination of white and blue), then look below for the video in its glorious 48-second entirety.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s all head down and “like” the Wii U! What do you think of this latest occurrence in the Nintendo-sphere? Is creating a Facebook page an easier and more relevant way to list announcements for new games, or is it too “unprofessional”? Comment away!
