Nintendo is starting a new eShop promotion on July 5th, which they are calling “8-Bit Summer”. During the promotion, new 3DS virtual console games will go up every week, spanning several series and systems.
Almost all of the games on the list have never been released for the 3DS; the only one that has is The Legend of Zelda as a part of the Ambassador Program. However, now even late adopters can play the original Zelda in all its portable glory.
Here is a full list of titles to be included in the promotion (others could possibly be added later):
- The Legend of Zelda - NES - July 5th
- Kirby’s Pinball Land - Game Boy - July 12th
- The Sword of Hope II - Game Boy - July 12th
- Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters - Game Boy - July 19
- Tumblepop - Game Boy - July 19th
- Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 - Game Boy - July 26th
- Sonic Blast - Sega Game Gear - TBA
- Sonic Labyrinth - Sega Game Gear - TBA
