In economic news today, the value of the Mushroom Kingdom coin has seen a large depreciation in value, with a total of 10,537,297,374 coins collected by Japanese players, as of a few hours ago. It’s also been reported that 242 of these players have collected over one million coins in their escapades across New Super Mario Bros. 2, proving once again that this game is an avid supporter of the “get rich or die trying” lifestyle. With so many mushroom dollars around the place, just how much is that golden coin worth now? Great job Princess Peach, you’ve just blown your economy. That’s capitalism for you.
Jokes (?) aside, we can see that what this implies for the gameplay is that, yes, there are a lot of coins… but not so much that it’s entirely easy to get one million of them. Will you be one of the few to reach one million total coins? That’s up to you, and just how well you can stomp bitches, and get money.
