• anThe Animal Crossing franchise has developed a cult following since its US debut on the Gamecube, and fans have been rabidly awaiting news on the installment planned for the 3DS.  The game, with a Japanese subtitle that translates to “Jump Out!”, was revealed at E3 2010 alongside the 3DS, but Nintendo has stayed pretty mum on the title since then.  However, a slew of brand new details have been revealed courtesy of Famitsu.

These range from the obvious, such as new stores run by characters Lisa the Alpaca and the Able Sisters, to some new elements, such as a huge shopping mall and the ability to become the mayor of your town.  I could definitely see the latter changing the game up a good deal.  Other new details include a gardening shop, a thrift shop, new fossils and fish, an exhibition and shop in the town museum, and mermaid-themed furniture.

Animal Crossing: Jump Out! will be released in Japan this fall.  It has been confirmed for an American release, but a title and release date are both unknown.  Do these new facts make it worth the wait, AC fans?
