Just yesterday, our very own editor Dylan James stated that Metal Gear Solid 5 had been officially announced by Kojima himself. Being the crazed Metal Gear Solid fan my girlfriend made me out to be, I am ecstatic to follow this game as news pours out over the next year or so. However, since Kojima gave us so little specifics, there’s always room for a little speculation. However, let’s stick to something a little more plausible than gameplay speculation: will this title be available for the Wii U?
The Metal Gear Solid franchise has seen it’s fair share of Nintendo console releases, with Twin Snakes released for Gamecube in 2004, and most recently Snake Eater 3D for the 3DS in February of this year. So what’s stopping them from taking a step towards the newest next-gen console, Nintendo’s Wii U, for their newest addition? MGS5 is a long ways away, however it is still fun to think about the possibility of this gem coming out for the Wii U, giving all of us yet another reason to get our hands on the next-gen console when it is due out later this year. Snake Eater 3D proved to us that using a touchscreen with the MGS setup can be a helpful and fun addition, so the Wii U will definitely shine in that aspect, as well as giving us maybe adding in a few fun and innovative touchscreen additions for the tablet. All in all, I’m excited for the game, but I’m just crossing my fingers that it will be available for brand new and shiny Wii U (when I get one, of course.) What do you guys think?
