Zelda in my Pocket, a fellow Zelda fansite dedicated to Handheld Zelda, is currently in the process of developing a fan-made Tingle game called Kakashi: The Search for Tingle.
Technically, the game stars Kakashi (basically the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz), who is on a quest to rescue Tingle from his kidnapper (a character named Salona from Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Love Balloon Trip, which was not released stateside).
I always think that it’s good to see fans developing their own games where Nintendo has failed to do so. I think Tingle is vastly underestimated in the US; so do the creators of this game, and they hope to use it to gain him (and the Zelda franchise in general) a little popularity.
If you want to show your support for or learn more about the project, check out their website. Also, I will be contacting the creator to learn more about the project, including how to play. If you have any questions for the developers, please feel free to contact them on their given email address, or leave your question in the comments and I’ll be sure to forward it to them.
