• Montage There’s been a lot of discussion over whether or not the Wii U is a proper next-gen console. Debates have been arguing that the Wii U is weaker/stronger than current gen consoles while the next Xbox and PlayStation could easily be 6x more powerful than current generation consoles. Cam Weber, EA Sports general football manager was given the chance to discuss the next Madden game set to release on the Wii U and when asked whether or not he saw the Wii U as a true next-gen console, he stated “Absolutely.”

There is some fear that Nintendo’s Wii U platform will be stuck between the current generation and the next one. Is the console really a next-gen platform?

Absolutely. It’s a [new] platform with a new controller input, so we’ll do everything we can to deliver an experience that will take advantage of the hardware for that consumer.
