• Capcom/Sega/Namco Bandai’s 3DS strategic RPG…thing…that acts as a crossover for every single property ever created may actually see the light of day on these far-flung Western shores - but only if it sells well enough in Japan.  Oh, and even if it does sell it’s still not certain either.  So it might be coming if it makes a nice amount of dough but it might not.  And apparently, even if it does make its way over here, it won’t be until late 2013 at the earliest.

All of this comes from a Namco Bandai representative via some guy who works at GameStop via said worker’s friend who runs the movement to get Project X Zone localized - so there’s also a layer of potential falsehood to all of this, just to heighten the excitement.

Here’s the Facebook comment in question:

hey everyone i finnaly got the chance to talk to my friend who was at gamespot expo early today, he told me that namco bandai is aware about people wanting pxz in the state, but they waiting to see how pxz sell in japan first before they start getting the lincense again from sega and capcom, IF that sell well and renew to get lincense from sega and capcom then they MIGHT released it in the state fall 2013/early 2014, THIS IS SIGN OF HOPE, NOT A VICTORY JUST YET also he clarified to me that the rumor of taking charathers out is BULLSHIT so that why i delect that last post, i’m very sorry for that everyone, good news is that namco bandai will be at nycc next month, i’ll will be going there as well, i’ll get the chance to talk to them about pxz and .hack versus for the .hack fans and hopefully i’ll record the interview with one of the namco bandai rep, so yeah like i said this is a sign of hope not victory - Anthony

So yes, it kind of hurts to read in places and the inner editor in me is howling in pain, but it may contain the truth (not to mention those who lead localization movements tend to be trustworthy as a whole).  As of right now, “100,000 Strong for Project X Zone” has roughly 2,000 people involved in it - so if you want to see this game reach your own country, make sure to “like” them and whatnot.

Personally, I’m just sitting around waiting to see if Sega and Namco Bandai will have all their characters in the game at launch and half of the Capcom roster will be paid DLC to decide if I might want it or not.  What do you think of this game? Comment away!
