Cave Story, NightSky eShop Details Coming Soon

A while back, indie developer Nicalis announced that a port of their PC puzzle game, NightSky, would be coming to the eShop in 2D, and that a new version of Cave Story with variations from the original, Cave Story+, will be released on the eShop as well.NightSky and the new version of Cave Story haven’t been mentioned much lately, but developer Nicalis says that is going to change soon. The indie developer took to Twitter to state the following:
“We’re just a few days from confirming a release date for Cave Story on eShop. And NightSky, too!”
I’m rather interested to see exactly what is different in the new version of Cave Story, and I’m hoping it is a significant update, considering you have to buy it separately from the original game. I also think its interesting that NightSky is being ported in 2D. Some may consider this lazy, but I think its a good thing. What’s the purpose in adding 3D unless it is going to be a significant part of the game?
What do you guys think? Will you be purchasing either of these two titles?
