Usually when fans join together and start a campaign, they can accomplish amazing things. They can revive a dead series, have games localized for their country, and even get DLC made to fix an utterly dreadful ending of a game. To Capcom, the fans utterly mean nothing when it comes to any of these options, opting instead to fix bugs in already finished games. A common subject many bring up when talking about Capcom no longer caring about the fans is Mega Man Legends 3 and its cancellation. Fans eventually created 100,000 Strong for Mega Man Legends 3 in an effort to bring the game back. Well, Capcom has heard your pleas and frankly, they don’t care.
In their recent Capcom Unity Official Podcast they praise the group for reaching such a large milestone in their campaign, but said that it has no bearing on the game being brought back into development, at least for now. Capcom certainly wants to bring the franchise going, they are planning a 25th Anniversary for Mega Man after all, but other than this, they don’t really detail anything new. We’ll just have to hold out hope and keep supporting the group and hope for the best.
