I still don’t know why Square-Enix doesn’t just call their upcoming RPG Bravely Default by the name it seems to be living up to: Final Fantasy 3DS. The game sports a graphical style very reminiscent of DS’s Final Fantasy outings, the job system seems to basically import old series favorites like White Mage, Black Mage, and Monk, and even the story seems like a carbon copy of Crystal lore. Still, I suppose there’s a bit of room for novelty: apparently some enemies will have jobs, too.
These special enemies are called “Job Masters,” and it seems that many of them will be gateways to unlocking certain job titles. Three enemies bearing the aforementioned jobs are out to arrest the heroine, Anies, for her pursuit of the crystals’ will. Like Final Fantasy III, it seems that jobs will be central to the game, and thus we should expect Job Masters to play a major role as well.
