Along the years The Legend of Zelda video game series has inspired several comic book adaptations from fans and Nintendo licensed artists alike. On this page, we aim to collect as many of them as possible. Most of these releases are no longer available for purchase and many of them have never been officially translated to english or made available outside Japan. The Zelda mangas presented here are all fan-made translations, unless noted otherwise.
In 2008 an official western release of the Ocarina of Time manga was announced by Viz Media, with hints of possible future releases. Until we can actually get our hands on the official releases, the only way to experience these comics, is by reading these fan translations brought to you by the wonderful Zelda community.

Accoring to the Japanese Wikipedia in this manga adaptation, Link isn't a traveller, but an apprentice gardener living in Hyrule Castle. Other differences include Link's ears being pointed because he is a half elf (in the Adventure of Link manual illustrations, the ears of Impa's tribe are also pointed), Impa is drastically younger (possibly because Zelda is stated to be of the same generation as Link), etc. These changes contribute to the manga's drastic deviation from the canon.
This manga was originally hosted by Kasuto.net in its original untranslated form. In 2008 translator GlitterBerry began translating the 200 page manga into english one page a day. Her ongoing work can be seen in her blog.

The american publisher Valiant Comics released a short comic based on the first two Zelda titles in the Nintendo Comics System, a magazine which ran during 1990 and 1991. Visually the comic was very similar to the campy cartoon series which ran in 1989, but the stories were somewhat more mature and at least tried to stay true to the original games.

This series consists of four volumes. One of the main differences in this adaptation of the story is the introduction of a new character, Ganty. It also reveals that Agahnim was a friend of Link's father. It was originally released in a Nintendo magazine and then published into graphic novels.

According to the introduction of the Collectors' Book, the comics were originally serialized in Nintendo Power magazine. The first of 12 parts appeared in January 1992 (Volume 32) and the series ran through December 1992. Although the story loosely follows the plot of A Link to the Past, some new twists and characters were added to preserve elements of surprise and add to the dramatic flow. This is the official translation.
