There is no denying that Breath of the Wild is a massive game, touting more geographical real estate than any other game in the series and offering enough quests for even the most exploration-focused player. If one was to set out to see all there is to see in those Hyrulian wilds, he or she will find a daunting task indeed. But with all there is to explore and do in Breath of the Wild, was there anything that should have…

The runes in Breath of the Wild were great, dynamic, multi-purpose tools that lent a great deal of creativity to players in how they interacted with puzzles, enemies, traversal and more. Giving all of the runes to Link at the start of his quest allowed players to start tinkering and exploring the runes’ different uses early on. But, should there have been more items at Link’s disposal throughout Breath of the Wild? As with much of the game, the entire…

After taking several weeks off, the Hyrule Compendium video series is back with another episode. This time around Gooey and I answer a fan question asking us to analyze the various Overworlds from many of the Legend of Zelda handheld titles and how they match-up with one another. Zelda games have always had thematic worlds, especially on the handheld side of things, whether it be the open-sea, changing of the seasons, a connective railway, or differences in landscape that occur…

Happy Monday, all my favorite people. Are you ready for yet another entry in Zelda Informer’s Caption Contest? I’ve been getting quite a bit of mileage out of the new masks and items from Breath of the Wild‘s latest DLC Pack. The contest has featured Majora’s Mask, Tingle’s Outfit, and the Travel Medallion. But I would contend that no new item is as useful as the Korok Mask, a headpiece that eases the anxieties of searching for pesky Korok Seeds….

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was typically fraught with feral beasts and monsters, but I’ve always found the bosses of the series to be the most impressive. True hallmarks of Zelda, towering creatures and impressive spectacles are what all fans have come to expect waiting for them at the end of a dungeon. Breath of the Wild was a more unique case. Dungeons were more or less replaced by a plethora of pocket challenges, the shrines, whilst…

IT’S HERE! This week, we talk with Sean Chiplock, the voice of Revali and Mishima from Breath of the Wild and Persona 5 respectively. Check it out as we learn more about him and what it’s like to be a voice actor. It was awesome to have him on this week, so give it a listen!

This week, the podcast probably will not go out until late Saturday or early Sunday. Now, there’s a good reason for that. Whereas we typically record on weekdays and try to get the podcast up by Friday, we happen to have a special guest that agreed to record with us this Saturday evening. That guest is none other than Sean Chiplock, the voice of Revali. Andy and I have the amazing opportunity to talk with this fantastic falcon and learn…

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I come to you today with yet another Zelda Informer Caption Contest. It’s been about four months since Breath of the Wild‘s release, and I’ve been a bit reflective about the epic adventure I have braved in the wilderness of Hyrule. It seems like only yesterday that a mysterious old man gave me his glider and set me loose. It was a special moment, but there sure were a few things I wish he had told…

The Zelda Dungeon Informer Marathon ended a little over a week ago. Staff members from both Zelda Informer and Zelda Dungeon played through the entire Zelda series in the span of a week and, teaming up with viewers, raised an even $5,000 for Extra Life. Considering the fact that the original goal was $2,000, that’s an amazing accomplishment, and it’s all going to such a wonderful cause! Now that the marathon is over, what did you guys think, if you…

Bringing older games onto current generation systems is nothing new. Nintendo’s arguably been one of the forerunners on this front, whether it’s been the Virtual Console bringing their classic library to new gamers or their recent trend of upgrading older games to newer hardware. Since backwards compatibility is less of a talked-about selling point, the trend is moving towards games being remade from the ground up. We’ve already started to see the older Legend of Zelda games move towards the…
