Needless to say, the Zelda series has gotten it’s fair share of amiibo, and there’s even more being released later this month. However, out of all eighteen Zelda amiibo, eleven of them are Link in one variation or another. I mean, I get it, there are many different variations of Link, but there really isn’t much more representation of other characters aside from the main hero, the princess, and a couple villains. So the question is, which character would you feature…

They say to never get in a fiddle match with the devil, especially in Georgia. Good thing we just made some bets on E3! But first, we talk about our frustrations with Nintendo’s ridiculous voice chat method for Splatoon 2. This week’s podcast is a bit late. Things are pretty hectic at the moment as my fiancee and I are finalizing things for the wedding. I’m also taking three grad courses over the summer which has constrained my schedule quite…

Spin-off! Is there any word more thrilling to the human soul? It’s a commonplace tactic in all forms of fiction, from movies, to TV shows, to books. Video games are no different. So many new series have been created with side characters from previous games. It’s how we have such series as Donkey Kong Country, the Wario series, as well as the Mega Man X franchise. While there have been some spin-off games in The Legend of Zelda franchise, none…

Breath of the Wild: Before the Fall It wasn’t that Link wanted to purposefully defy his father’s orders, but he could not just sit there and do nothing. He felt his body itch to head into the action and it only set his eyes aflame with the passion to fight. He was a soldier. Well, he wanted to be a soldier. While he was still in training, Link believed that he could handle himself out on the field. With a…

The Legend of Zelda has contained many memorable, challenging, and fun boss fights, with some examples including Ganon from The Wind Waker, Dark Link from The Adventure of Link, and Majora from Majora’s Mask. However, none were as challenging as the final boss of Breath of the Wild: Calamity Ganon. I will be discussing the boss fight and story of Breath of the Wild in detail so, if you would like to avoid any spoilers, here is your obligatory SPOILER…

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a pretty intricate system for catching and keeping horses. You could not only catch the different horses, name them, and transfer them around the land with you, but each horse had different strengths and weaknesses. But what about Loftwings? Long before Link would ever set foot on the realm that would be known as Hyrule to ride a horse, he was flying the majestic birds in the sky above Skyloft. Imagine…

Lore is seemingly essential to the Zelda series when it comes to its storytelling. Often, the games with the most original lore have intriguing stories. Majora’s Mask, for example, has a rather straightforward story, but Termina’s lore makes the story richer. However, when it comes to a game like Breath of the Wild where most of the lore is hidden in flashbacks. Despite this, the overall experience of the game is still fun. Even with the little lore you are…

Hi there, everyone. I figured I would take a few minutes out of my day off to start up another Zelda Informer Caption Contest. Breath of the Wild gives players plenty of tools to overcome the challenges of the Hyrulian wilderness. One such tool is the Octo Balloon, an inflatable item that can lift objects into the air. The utility of the Octo Balloon is definitely to be admired, but sometimes things don’t go quite as Link would expect.

The second episode of our Zelda Book Club is now available and you can check out it out right here. For those unfamiliar with the new series, Gooey and I are reading through the Ocarina of Time Manga, and after each couple chapters, we are stopping to discuss what we read. We are highlighting some of the differences that the Manga offers in comparison to the game, answer some viewer feedback, and then offer up some guesses on what’s to…

Hello, ZI fans! The Photoshop Contest is back again, and I do believe I’ve caught a whiff of the sea breeze. This week saw the release of a new Pirates of the Caribbean film, giving theater-goers the chance to go on another voyage across the seven seas. But as exciting as the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow are, Zelda fans know that their favorite game series is forever the best source of seafaring and swashbuckling entertainment. This week’s contest will…
