As part of Breath of the Wild’s Master Trials DLC Pack, a Master Mode was showcased, highlighting high-octane moments of Master Sword mastery. The DLC boasts a harder difficulty that’s sure to test the mettle of even the hardiest of the Hyrulean hardcore, with bokoblins and octoroks working in tandem. Also, could the Trifoce symbol in the lower left corner be an indicator of sorts?

So what do you guys think? Are you excited about finally getting a true hard mode for Zelda, beyond just receiving double damage? Are you all ready for the challenge? How excited are you all for these DLC packs in general? Let us know in the comments below!

So wait, isn’t finishing the Master Trials supposed to unlock some new power for the Master Sword or whatever? what exactly does that do? took me forever to figure out how the sword powers from 30 to 60 as it is. :/

I think it just stays at its 60 form the whole time after you finish the master trials

Master Mode takes up a separate save file, so you don’t have to lose all your saves from your first run.

The fact that the minibosses can regenerate will make some of them harder to kill… Specially golden lynels. And some of the talus

I’m really looking forward to this. I started a second playthrough and found it to be too easy when fighting enemies, naturally since I had already experienced the game before. This along with the other DLC feels to me like the game will have new life. I’m excited!

*yawn* why must they charge for the extra content? Haven’t they made enough money from this game as is?

There are two examples of lazy DLC.
The first is horde mode, the second is hard mode. Other games in the past have added hard mode as DLC and got blasted for it.
    Expected more from Nintendo.

Does the master mode require a new game or can it be applied to old saves as well?

    • Eldin

      That’s something I’m also very interested in…

So what’s up with the triforce?
