The Quarter-Finals of our Best Dungeon tournament continue with a new match-up. As Earth Temple and Ancient Cistern clash in yesterday’s poll, we now turn to the best dungeons of A Link Between Worlds and Breath of the Wild. This bout could go either way, so let’s get started. Thieves’ Hideout (A Link Between Worlds) Vs. Hyrule Castle (Breath of the Wild) Thieves’ Hideout earned a modest win in our A Link Between Worlds poll, and continued to build up…

With Breath of the Wild having such a vast and open world, players are left with a lot to explore and find on their journey. Many of these hidden objects throughout the game are the Sheikah Shrines. Some of these shrines are very easy to find, while others challenge the player in finding the location of the shrine. With a total of 120 Sheikah Shrines to find, it is hard to narrow it down to which are the best to…

Breath of the Wild introduced one of the wildest collect-a-thons in any of the series, but there have always been many collectibles for players to obtain on their path to 100%. Heart containers, gold Skulltulas, Poe souls, even stamps all litter the world’s of Hyrule and beyond waiting to be found. I’m sure many Zelda fans out there are drowning in a sea of Korok seeds as they push for all 900. Many of them have already gotten there already….

From the beginnings of the Zelda series, Link has been a swordsman, and he’s picked up quite a few different techniques in each of his incarnations. From series staple attacks such as the Spin Attack introduced in A Link to the Past and the Jump Attack introduced in Ocarina of Time to the more unique moves such as the Hurricane Spin introduced in The Wind Waker and the Flurry Rush introduced in Breath of the Wild, Link has truly mastered the…

3D Printing Nerd recently uploaded his take on creating a 3D printed Master Sword. Seeing his process and listening to his knowledge of 3D printing was impressive. He used a Lulzbot TAZ6 MOARstruder and Polymaker Polylite to print the iconic blade. The pattern took 17 hours to print, versus around 120 hours using a different printer. The Polymaker Polylite is sturdy and heavy, according to John. During the assembly, the plastic had to be sanded down a little, and then metal rods…

The Quarter-Finals of our Best Dungeon tournament continue with a new match-up. As Eagle’s Tower and Stone Tower Temple clash in yesterday’s poll, we now turn to the best dungeons of The Wind Waker and Skyward Sword. This might just be the biggest contest we’ve seen so far, so let’s get it on. Earth Temple (The Wind Waker) Vs. Ancient Cistern (Skyward Sword) The Earth Temple’s unique presentation and atmosphere continue to carry it strongly through the tournament. Despite some…

CelloBassett recently uploaded his cover of “Prince of Darkness” from A Link to the Past to YouTube. The cello performance is done in a style similar to Smooth McGroove, in that multiple parts of the song are being played at different times, which adds a layer of intrigue to the video. As for the quality of the song, it is clear that a lot of passion and faithful adaptation went into this cover. The cello’s bassy tone makes the song sound…

The Smash Bros. roster has remained decidedly finite when it comes to the denizens of Hyrule. We’ve had Link, both Toon and Young, Zelda and Sheik who’ve only recently been split into separate fighters and Ganondorf. That’s it. With so many characters to choose from, it’s strange how most of the cast are resigned to trophies or at best, assists. Surely its time for a fresh Hyrulean Newcomer? With other games like Fire Emblem and Pokémon getting so much representation…

Game Theory’s “Culture Shock” series, hosted by Gaijin Goombah, recently posted a video on the Yiga Clan. This particular video somewhat accompanies Gaijin’s video about the Sheikah in Breath of the Wild. Rather than look for the authenticity of the Yiga Clan as ninja, Gaijin chooses to focus more on the historical background of the Yiga. He also gets to the bottom of why the Yiga seem to love bananas so much. The Yiga appear to be representing the Iga…

Our Best Dungeon tournament has finally moved on to the Quarter-Finals, with eight of the best Zelda dungeons ready to take one step closer to the top spot. We’ve got some whopper match-ups scheduled this week, so let’s get started with the best dungeons of Link’s Awakening and Majora’s Mask. Eagle’s Tower (Link’s Awakening) Vs. Stone Tower Temple (Majora’s Mask) Eagle’s Tower earned its spot in the tournament by not only being the best stage in Link’s Awakening, but by…
