New Zelda Wii Information Leaked?

UPDATE: Check out the second part of this list here!

Thumbnail image for Zelda Wii Thumbnail Zelda Wii is most likely the next installment in the series, and estimates say it should be out either this year or next. While Nintendo has done a great job at not leaking really anything concrete about the game itself... rumors are still rearing their head. Now, normally we wouldn't post about a rumor because most the time it's just that, however, there is some reason to believe the rumors we have inside. They come from a popular Japanese message board called 2ch, which is somewhat similar in style to our English based 4chan. What is interesting about rumors at this Japanese site is more often then not they turn out to be true. Not willing to believe that? Well lets look at what 2Ch has leaked over the years that turned out to be true.

First off, they were the first people to break the news and story for every single Kingdom Hearts game ever made, long before it was publicly released. They released all the news for Metal Gear Solid 4, Resident Evil 4 and 5, and pretty much every Square Enix RPG ever made. Interestingly enough, back in 2003, they also broke The Wind Waker's story roughly two months before release, and no, prerelease copies were apparently not out yet stateside. So the question needs to be asked: If the community there has been right so many times with rumors, then why can't they be right this time around?

  • The game will be vary from the dungeon field dungeon method we are accustomed too (nothing new, Eiji Aonuma confirmed that last year).
  • You will be able to select right or left handed at the start, and Link will be left or right handed based on your selection
  • The gameplay and basic mechanics are complete.
  • They are currently polishing up the story and Characters.
  • One of the characters they are working on is a innkeeper in Link's home village who has a son that looks up to Link.
  • The girl in the art is not the Master Sword, and it appears the Master Sword will not be in the game.
  • The girls name from the painting could possibly be Adelle, Adella, or Aderu.
  • She is not with you throughout the game like Ezlo and Midna.
  • The face in the painting of her is not her real face. It's not fully elaborated on much, but it does say that it was a place holder concept art piece.(assuming the entire art itself was just concept work)
  • Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities. Adelle (or whatever her final name becomes) communicates with you through this sword.
  • There will be horseback combat. Epona will avoid obstacles automatically.
  • The models for 3 significant characters in the game have been touched up, but no they are not Zelda or Ganondorf. (Google translate gives rough names of Link, Gorons, and Epona, but our translator said it's not specifically mentioned)
  • The idea of this version of Link also being The Hero of Time has been highly considered, and may already be implemented.
  • Time travel plays a role in the game.
  • The game takes place in more than just Hyrule, and may possibly not be Hyrule at all.

So there is a lot of stuff to digest there. Again, remember to always take this with a grain of salt, but the fact it comes from a place where so many other rumors turn out to be true does make you wonder. The Hero of Time's return could propose a sequel to Majora's Mask, meanwhile time travel returning makes since if it's the same character. Could also explain the statement last year from Nintendo that this is the oldest Link yet. The fact the game could also be more then Hyrule, or a new land all together, could play well into the follow up to Majora's Mask. If you recall, Link was on a journey to find a lost friend, presumably Navi, so who knows where that may have lead him.

One thing is for certain, Nintendo is definitely trying to give us something new by linking to something old. True or not, these rumors give us a lot to talk about, and most of them are highly probable in my mind. Thanks has to go out to, Chesu of GameFaqs for the translation of the rumors, and to 2ch themselves for providing this information for the fans.

Discuss at our forums here.

The confirmation of this post, by one of our translators, was found out to be false. I apologize if that confirmation provided any miss information, and I will be sure the team provides fully translated jap to english text for any future confirmations. Therefore, the only "official" translation is the one provided by Chesu at GameFaqs. It still doesn't really change the news posting much, just means that there is only one person who translated it.

Well, this is a nice surprise. The only surprising I see is the "Hero of Time" red flag. Other than that, it's what I would hope for- and expect.

Time travelling needs to make another appearance. It hasn't been seen since Oracle of Ages.

Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to hearing more news.

talonmalon333 | January 20, 2010 1:41 PM

The possibility of this being true has increased a little for me, but I still have my doubts.

I would love to know what happened to the Hero of Time after Majora's Mask, I'm actually hoping it's true it's the same Link

/man child fan boy

Time Travel coming back is pretty cool, we haven't had it in awhile

I like the girl's name already :3

I just have to say that I'm chuffed as chips. These rumors may or may not be true, but regardless, they are EXACTLY what I've been looking forward to in Zelda Wii minus my speculation that the Sword Girl indicated some form of multiplayer.

If this stuff is actually true, Zelda Wii is going to be pretty amazing.

I'm kind of disappointed at the prospect of no Master Sword or horseback combat, but "unlockable abilities" for your sword would probably make up for that.

Taking it all with both a grain of salt and hope. *Shakes Wii-mote with left hand* 'Tis where my heart lies. Also, if it turns out to be the Hero of Time I'll be pretty happy: he's my favourite for some reason. (Not nostalgia: my first LoZ was TP).
And Epona avoiding obstacles automatically would mean combat is planned to be more complicated than before.

And-and-and I'll take this with plenty of salt.

I'm hoping to see more princess Zelda than what TP gave us (but not expecting an ST-like presence, that was a special gaming experience) however if it turns out to be a land other than Hyrule I'd understand her absence... ._.

maybe, MAYBE, the girl in the concept art isn't just a girl but....

an adult and " human " form of navi o_O

think about it, she won't be in the entire game, halfway trough you find her?
something like that never happened in the zelda franchise, would be cool

I Don't like much the idea of the Hero of Time return. I'm hopeful for something completely unrelated to the Ocarina of Time universe [because past these years almost everything refer to this game, and I think this is cutting down their creativity (I'm looking specially to you, Twilight Princess)].

Time traveling it's cool and all, but I want to see something totally new, not another plot related to time, the wind, or a dark world. Maybe different worlds to travel using the sword's power, but with a new theme, not darkness again.

Liked the name "Adella", btw. :P

well this definitly is a game worth looking forward to...except for the wii. why cant they put games on gamecube also? they do that with ps2, why not gc?

Just A Comment | January 20, 2010 2:53 PM

HERO OF TIME, YES!

Best Link ever!

(hope that part is true. epicness would abound)

I think these items have the ring of truth to them...with motion plus the choice of right or left handedness seems necessary, the tidbit about the character in the art having changed makes a lot of sense, and it all adds up to just the right amount of change based on what we have heard so far.

The first point, the field-dungeon-field formula being toyed with, seems to me the most important but least clear and most concerning. What is the deal? That formula is Zelda. So, please tell me what is going on? We should get a post just speculating on this...

It is wonderful that the whole game may not take place in Hyrule, I would love it if it started in Hyrule and then expanded to other lands.

Also, what could the additional abilities for the sword be? Will it shoot some sort of magic (LoZ, AL, LttP...)? Will it act as some sort of sensor; could it light up or shake or something as secrets get near? Will it work as some sort of key for time travel or communicating with fairies or something??

This is definitely a load of bullshit. As someone on Zelda Universe put it:

"The one thing that makes this sound fake:

Quote:
• The basic mechanics and gameplay elements are done, and they're currently working on the story, dungeons and developing characters.

Anyone with the least bit of insight of the gaming industry will know that Zelda Wii has come a lot further than that if they've been developing since 2006 and plan to release this year.

Also, "working on the story" should've been completed years ago (included in the design document i.e. before any actual production) unless they're doing minor tweaks.

Again, there's no way in hell that this is true unless development started in like 2009."

This is just another shot in the dark by Joe Shmoe like the Zelda deluge rumors.

This sounds painfully familiar...

"One of the characters they are working on is a innkeeper in Link's home village who has a son that looks up to Link."

Colin.

(:+(

Please, please, tell me they are being more original with other plot elements...

To "A" and others saying that this is obviously false, I don't think it is obvious (even if it is highly likely)...

This information would be received as a leak, it would not come from Miyamoto or Aonuma, but from one of the many scores of people working on the project...it could be some Nintendo programmer just working on textures or sound or animation or something, this person (like most of the people working on the project) might only have a limited view of the whole game and not know what other sub-teams on the overall Zelda team are working on.

This type of segmentation is typical in the entertainment industry to keep spoilers and such from leaking early.

shadowblaze66 | January 20, 2010 3:35 PM

Lol its funny how people say Ocarina of Time Link is their favorite Link. When really all the Links are exactly the same. Not as a person but for what they represent. Anyway this information could be true and if its is I'd be more than happy.

The girl in the pic with Link could be Preteen-teenage fairy on her way to adulthood. They haven't showed the evolution of the fairies in the zelda series or their significance or relation to the other races of the zelda universe. They've always been the most aloof. So the story could revolve around them and a new fairy queen in the making.

A, do you watch the developement of Zelda games much? They work on gameplay and game mechanics a lot before they delve too deep into the other stuff. Obviously some dungeons and the general gist of the story is done by now - I think what it implied is the gameplay mechanics itself is complete, while they are still working on the other stuff.

Well, the Hero of Time, Shadowblaze, represents time travel. OOT and MM featured it heavily. Using that same Link implies time travel.

It's pretty unique in that sense, I would say. While in general all links are the same, the HoT has that unique ability that I think only the one in ages also has.

shadowblaze66 | January 20, 2010 3:48 PM

@ Nathanial Rumphol-Janc , I see ur point. But if this game is a sequel to MM it would tie up that whole alternate time line path nicely. Or make it even worse by contradicting TP...

I like the idea that this is the Hero of Time, continuing his quest for Navi, several years down the line.

Ummmmmmn, no. The "Hero of Time" Link is not the only one to time travel...

Please correct me if I am wrong, but was there not time travel in TP? Travelling back through the portal to the Temple of Time?

There was no time travel in twilight princess.

The game will be vary from the dungeon field dungeon method we are accustomed too (nothing new, Eiji Aonuma confirmed that last year).

I don't understand this. Will it be the same pattern or different?

Link to this supposed 2ch topic, or it didn't happen.

Inside...I giggle with excitement....literally

This is not new, actually a couple of months old. Also, the guy over at IGN claims that he has discovered and translated the info by himself, but he just copied a topic from GameFAQs, which is more than a month old:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=960633&topic=52658299

OMFG time travelling AGAIN? NO WAY! I dont wana the hero of time back, i wanna something new with new history <.<

@Nate: Actually, there was timetravel in TP. You go through a portal to the ToT to back before it was ruined and the Dominion Rod was at its original strength, then you come back through and the Temple's back ruined again and the Dominion Rod is useless through centuries of decomposition.

It's minor, but it's there.

@ TurianTourist

Yeah I am aware of the old link, but I was waiting pretty much on our translators to get back to me for confirmation.

As for a link the exact post at 2chan - the post was made in november, so it's no longer visible. They only go back 9 pages, which if you check today, only takes you back to the 18th of this month.

So, the post is no longer available. It is only preserved through my email, and the few forums that got it up. That guy at IGN is pretty wack though for taking claim. At least I had a translator GO OVER IT first, he just blatently copy pasted. If I was not lazy I would change the credit information.

SMALLVILLE BOY | January 20, 2010 5:56 PM

Interesting ifo but we need to wait to official info.

would like to see a non - temple zelda. because temples is the thing a i like the most in zelda, so if they take it away and make something I like, then I will be amazed.

Do whetever you want, Aounuma. IN YOU WE TRUST.

@River Zora

Thanks for backing me up on the time travel in TP. I thought it was a pretty cool touch (for an otherwise boring temple).

@Nate Rumphol-Janc

Sorry to be aggressive on this, but, seriously, don't you run this sight??? Shouldn't know that there was time travel in the most recent console title?

It's not exactly ancient history, except in Hyrule of course ;)...

Maybe if this sight spent less time obsessing over the mediocre Majora's Mask you would remember most recent game.

So, can we all not agree that the "Hero of Time" Link is not the only time traveler?

There's no reason to believe any of this. 2chan is Japanese 4chan. Nothing more, nothing less.

If it came from 2ch, and not 2chan, and with a source, I might believe it.

Needless to say, I'm pumped.

who's ready for another split timeline??

I knew that the girl wasnt the master sword........ people didn't believe me though...

@ Jupiter - Because time travel was not prominent in TP, it did slip my mind. It was relevant in the game for all of 30 seconds. I also never said Hero of Time Link was the only time traveler. I believe he also did it in Oracle of Ages.

And just an fyi, it's "site", not "sight". You know, website, site...etc.

Yes, I do own the site and run it primarily, however, while this site has a reputation of liking majora's mask it should be noted that we are not biased towards that game. In fact, I do a lot of the article and news writing around here, and it was me, yes me, last year that stated Twilight Princess may be the best zelda ever:

http://www.zeldainformer.com/2009/09/twilight-princess-is-the-best.php

Yes, the time travel in TP slipped my mind, can you forgive me? I play a lot of Zelda games, so sometimes it's hard to remember every tiny detail.

I'm definitely taking this with a grain of salt. Still, its nice to hear some information on the matter about Zelda Wii, even if its technically old. Ties us over for the rest of the day until tomorrow when we want more again xD

@Nathan Rumphol-Janc

First, thanks for pointing out my egregious malapropism. Woooops! I do that often actually, maybe more often THAN you...I am (to add a third homophone to "sight" and "site") citing your repeated misuse of "then" in your original article.

Second, forgiveness is free. You have it. I enjoy your site and all the Zelda fodder we get from you, so I'm not forgetting that as I challenge you.

Still, it does not erase my surprise that the owner of a popular Zelda fansite peremptorily declared "There was no time travel in twilight princess." in response to my verifiably correct statement that there was.

No, it was not central to the game at all, but it certainly added to the atmosphere and mystique of that particular temple...it also fit into the whole plot around the Hyrulian historian character and his research into and Link's retrieval of the Dominion Rod.

What's more, as a casual Zelda enthusiast, when I saw the time travel part in TP I immediately thought, "Wow, Nintendo is really going out of their way to include some sort of "time" element in this game".

Arguably "time", if not time travel per se, has been an element of Zelda games ever since ALttP. "Time" is an element in WW too, sort of. When you travel to the bottom of the ocean in a way you are traveling back in time...indeed time is frozen when you enter the castle, right?

I think your, and other commenter's focus on the uniqueness of the "Hero of Time" Link is misplaced, and I really want to challenge that strongly. It seems to me that for a long time certain elements are simply thematic to the series, not any particular Zelda timeline. Time, music, magic, light world/dark world...all these elements (and others you may notice) are really just themes to the series in general.

Whoa. That's a ton of stuff. Here's hoping it's true, I've been waiting to see the return of the Hero of Time for a while now!

Link's Uncle | January 21, 2010 12:25 AM

All of that stuff could easily be in the new Zelda, and doesn't sound too different than usual IMO, but I won't mind either way

I'd love to see the Hero of Time come back, especially if the link it directly to Majoras Mask. That would mean, for the first time in the whole Zelda history, a very solid story about the main character you are playying as, and the nostalgia factor wouls be awesome.

But I ABSOLUTELY do NOT want time travel. I'm so tired about such thing. I don´t care what they'd want to add, anything, just not time travel.

Dinosaur Rex | January 21, 2010 12:50 AM

@Jupiter

Stop doing that, you better be different IRL or you'll get a lot of punches in the face.
- - - -

That "girl" is not the Master sword or even related to it? C'mon, the color is the same, the design is the same, even her hat has a sword like tip.

Just look at it everything screams master sword.

@Dinosaur Rex

Stop doing what? Making a point and discussing the Zelda series? I have posted more than my fair share of times on this comment thread so apologies for that...

I'm happy to be pretty much the same IRL, and nobody has landed a punch to date.

Perry Radica | January 21, 2010 3:27 AM

I wouldn't even take this as a grain of salt, so many TP rumours similar to this never came true. They came in similar format of a few dot points and majority of them were fake.

Also looking at this point more carefully: "The models for 3 significant characters in the game have been touched up, but no they are not Zelda or Ganondorf. (Google translate gives rough names of Link, Gorons, and Epona, but our translator said it's not specifically mentioned)"

This kind of implies that they are using the same engine as TP (For example OoT and MM run on the same / very similar engine). However I could be wrong and this could just be referring to the art style but I would hate to see this game rip its graphics from TP.

@A I don't know where you pulled that dot point from, it is not listed above. However it seems to be an altered version of this: "They are currently polishing up the story and Characters." This implies that they are not just working on the story now, they are polishing it up.

I don't think the hero of time will be in this one because I read an article and it said that TP was a starting point for new zelda. Besides I woudnt want the hero of time again I liked it the way they left it, they made a new link(TP) they should just use him and I think they already are.

If you look at the concept art you'll see that the link there looks exactly like the link from TP. Oh and one thing I would like to see in this Zelda is being able to fly, like on a bird or something. I'm kind of getting bored of epona

Great article! I really enjoyed reading this and it looks as though this game will be different than anything we've ever played. It was interesting to read that the girl in the concept art is not the Master Sword. I can't wait to actually play the game, and I'm very interested about the sword.

ZUZU: actually, Twilight Princess is the starting point in terms of what should be improved gameplay-wise. Nothing related to the story. It was also confirmed that the game isn't connected to twilight princess in time.

But i can't feel excited with this news. Making Link the Hero of Time give story developers less liberty in story-making. Also, the overworld would have the same problem most people had with TP's one: It can be too similar to OOT's one. Even if the game is in Termina, it would have the same problem, but the overworld would be more similar to MM's one.

Other thing is time travel. Sure it's cool, but it isn't creative.

Also, since when Gorons and Epona are significant characters. Sure, there can be a more important Goron character like Darunia or Darmani, but they gave the idea of the normal goron. Also, Epona is just a transportation mode. Sure it has some story, but it never was significant to the main one.

In your last bullet point you used the word "then" incorrectly. You should have used "than" because you were comparing two things. "Then" would have been correct if you were describing an order of events, e.g. "First Link will do some time-traveling, THEN he will sing an Irish drinking song." Also, in your second-to-last bullet point, you used the word "roll". From the context, it seems you meant to say "role". I do not find it likely that time travel will be shooting any dice, though I admit that I could be mistaken.

TriforceAngel | January 21, 2010 7:28 PM

If this is the return of "The Hero of Time" and a sequel to MM This would fill in the gap between MM and TP. I.E where the Light Sprit got the green tuinc for Tp Link.(Note: Im not saying that Tp is deffently after MM, or there being in the Hero of time/Child time line or just the hero of time time line at all.) All Im saying is it would fill the gap and we all would get a fix in are timelines. (or like me series Time lines)

But didn't Aonuma state he read some of the rumors, and they were right? As far as I know, the only rumor widely known about the game is that the girl is the Master Sword. I don't believe she's not.

There were also rumors about her being a fairy.

And just being connected to a sword in general would be enough to warrant Aonuma's words.

These rumors also were back in november, before he stated that. The first bullet point on the list was called before it was actually confirmed.

So, who knows?

One thing I find interesting is that everyone seems obsessed with "Linking" all the zelda games together. Why must it be related to bla bla bla zelda title? It's kind of annoying when the most common arguments regarding zelda games stem from people trying so desperately to connect them all to each other, not realizing that the more they do so, the less the games make sense. I've always considered each game as taking place in a separate "universe" where they realistically have nothing to do with each other, just like each of the Final Fantasy games. There are correlations, but no real "same world" connections. Yes I've read just about every article in regards to a "timeline" but it just doesn't fit the series. let each new adventure be a new adventure and there will be a lot more fun and a lot less headaches.

I don't want it to be the hero of time because then it will just be another OoT or MM. When aonuma said that there was going to be Changes in the game I thought he meant that he was going to make it different, rather than the same compared to other Zelda titles.

I played OoT, MM, TP and They were all awsome games but I don't think anyone would want a repeat of the same story which is quite similar to marios story. Princess is kidnapped(peach and Zelda) by the same person(ganandorf and bowser) and the next part is obvious.

The game needs to be more challenging and have more puzzles, ganandorf was one of the easiest bosses but majoras mask is what I call challenging. the whole game including majora was a real challenge.

I love Zelda games and I like all of them I play but I think it does need a bit of changing. I know i'm complaining too much but think o it this way, imagine geting the same gift from the same person over and over again.

talonmalon333 | January 22, 2010 1:49 PM

"Im not saying that Tp is deffently after MM,"

You should be, because we know for a fact that MM > TP. It's not even up to debate.

TriforceAngel | January 22, 2010 4:21 PM

@JDawg yah thats what I think the real Timeline is I dont belive all the games connect just some like ww,ph, and St.

@Talonmalon333 see there no real time line so we cant say where it is in it I have a different Universe time line theory and what I have conculted is It Takes place in the Lttp Universe before lttp or after MM in the Child oot time line well if its not in oots time line it doesn't split at all. but yah theres no real timeline or even a real placement that this game could be just theory.(+only said that so ppl don't flip out at me for putting it there.)

....Wha? Your "translator" says that the touched-up models may be Link, Epona and Gorons? That's interesting, because as far as I know only a few hundred people saw the original 2chan post.... and I was probably the only person who saved the information in it, posting it (translated) a month later on GameFAQs.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=960633&topic=52658299

OMG ZELDAINFORMER STOLE MY HOUSE DEED!

Chesu, I have emailed you, and I apologized for how things were handled. I actually thank you for pointing this out, and the matter will be dealt with internally.

talonmalon333 | January 23, 2010 11:35 AM

"but yah theres no real timeline"

Do I even have to tell you how wrong this is?

TriforceAngel | January 23, 2010 10:02 PM

ok go a head prove me wrong i know theres like the oot/ mm and ww/ph/st thingy thos games are a "Timeline" because it has statements in each game connecting them, but i meant was theirs no official release stating that all the games connect to each other.

talonmalon333@gmail.com | January 24, 2010 12:19 AM

Shigeru Miyamoto: "For every Zelda game we tell a new story, but we actually have an enormous document that explains how the game relates to the others, and bind them together. But to be honest, they are not that important to us. We care more about developing the game system... give the player new challenges for every chapter that is born."

The confirmed time line so far is...

OoT > MM > TP
V
TWW
V
PH
V
ST

Although if I'm going to be honest, I kind of feel like those should be the only canon games, with the Four Swords games being their own universe, and the rest being non canon.

talonmalon333 | January 24, 2010 12:20 AM

LOL. I messed up and added "@gmail.com" to my name in the above post.

The part with the innkeeper is kind of interesting imo, because most of the prologue villages in Zelda games are too small and too far away to even have an inn. In OoT, WW & TP you start at the very end of map, so maybe here we'll start in the middle of map in a bigger village like in MM.
Also the sword thing seems preferable to me, not having the Master Sword in the game could mean no Ganon at all.
I'd like to have a new villian (just like in MM)
But I don't wanna have any kind of (or nearly none) nostalgia feeling, TP was full of that feeling and now I want everything fresh and new!

The sword with unlockable abilities seems like a good idea, it puts the sword in the middle of attention and adds an element of RPGs to the franchise (Miyamoto said, that he'd like to have some of those elements implemented)
Imagine that you swing your sword in a circular motion to shoot a ball of fire to solve a puzzle or something like that.

TriforceAngel | January 24, 2010 10:22 AM

as i said on the last comment i believe in that part bing a time line but i dont totally believe tp belongs beside mm it would make more sense if it was b4 Lttp in its own universe. also your in titled to your own opinion everyone is. and even if ww > Tp was true zelda wii could screw things up making it mm>wii>TP which im hoping to dose then it fill a gap in my timeline. also he has gotten things wrong many times b4.(also this is exsacly what I was trying to prevent when I sad "I'm not sayong it belongs there in the timeline.)

talonmalon333 | January 24, 2010 12:13 PM

"also your in titled to your own opinion everyone is."

*Sigh.* Do you not understand?

Yes. People are entitled to their own opinions. But the creators have said for a FACT about Twilight Princess' placement. It's NOT an opinion. And if you say otherwise, then you are wrong.

Do you need anymore creator quotes? Otherwise I have nothing more to say here.

i want to see some new masks if it is sequel to MM

TriforceAngel | January 25, 2010 11:09 AM

hey i believe you don't worry that why im confused to where to place it in my time line but as i said he has had some facts wrong before. Link Lttp is after adventure of Link.

Dont try to fight me on this kid

talonmalon333 | January 25, 2010 1:52 PM

LOL. Are you trying to threaten me? I think you've worn out your welcome. Not only that, but I can hardly understand half of the stuff you said.

But anyway, you can remain ignorant to the facts if you want. I'm done here, unless you post something worthwhile.

PS: No, it's not confirmed that LttP is after AoL. In fact it's most likely the opposite.

i dont care what is on the new game i am just giggling like a school girl over a new game long over due in my eyes

There is nothing I'd like more than pulling out my old eye of truth and checking how much of those rumors are true!
I hope they are, I like them ALL, speciallllyy hero of time link, but I really hope there is a master sword :(

1 more thing I didn't like was the child looking up 2 link... I mean wth i hate those peaceful boring origins where link is so kind to the boy that admires him....crap
I hated the beginning of TP it was just like that, hope they don't repeat that

these rumours aren't true well the only part I know which isn't true is that the hero of time isn't in it.
Before these rumours were spread, the person who told them should have done they're research to find out that the master sword plays an important part of time travel. If there is no master sword there is no time travel.

The hero of time can still be in the game but it would be pointless because without using him in time travel is stupid. So there's my point of view, no master sword=no time travel, which takes that rumour out of the picture. No time travel=no hero of time(50/50 chance).

That is just my side of the argument thy might be true. Then again aonuma confirmed that some of the rumours were true but these rumours came out after he confirmed some rumours.

Trust me I agree with you on whatever we where fighting on in the first place...Oh yah TP placement, yah agree. But im just tring to say is that some people might no believe that and the reason i said "Not saying..." was so this thing doesn't happen. I guess if im gonna comment it im still gonna get jerks like you who are gonna argue about anything i post.

Trust me I agree with you on whatever we where fighting on in the first place...Oh yah TP placement, yah agree. @TRIFORCE ANGEL

I wasn't arguing against you and im sorry if I made you think I was. I was trying to convince the people that beleived this rumour that this has a more likely chance of not happening than it does of actually being true.

After all nintendo haven't made any confirmed statements about the latest rumours. I don't think they will so that way it has a lot of people thinking it's true and then at E3 we are all in for a big surprise.

Oops my mistake. You were talking to talonmalon333.
Sorry

@ Zuzu: Majora's Mask has time travel and as far as I remember, the Master Sword isn't even mentioned in it.

No longer @Zuzu:

As for those bullet points up there...well, I'd like for the handedness thing to be true, being left-handed myself.
I don't much like the idea of changing the routine of progression because that's what I recognise the Zelda series to be all about.

Not too bothered about the Master Sword, but personally I'd like Ganon to be in it in some form, even if it's as small as his appearance in the Oracle games. To me, there are two things that make up the Zelda series: the field-dungeon-field routine, and the Triforce (including the classic bearers of each piece, Link, Zelda and Ganon).

@Murdok

hmmm u guess you're right but but I was referring to where referring to Ocarina if Time wher you travel to the future snd the past in which you need the ocarina and master sword. In majoras mask you only travel 3 days back before the carnival of time.

is it saying that with the hero of time thingy that it will be sorta like the ocarina of time....the only game i havent beaten and why no master sword....that sword makes the games....

Ok, there are few inconsistancies.

One) TP link did in fact time travel but he was placed there. he did not control the flow of time.

two) WW link was placed into hyrule while time was frozen. he did not control the flow of time

three) LttP link had the mirror. that is the closest thing to a non-hero of time hero to controlling time.

four) THE Hero of Time had the OCARINA of time in which he used to CONTROL the flow of time which is moreso TIME TRAVEL not TIME PLACEMENT. MM had the most control with the ocarina being the "ship" he used to sail through the three days. so saying this OoT had more time placement and the Hero utilized the 7 year slumber, but in MM he used the ocarinas power to sail through time. (real time travel) for actual time travel you need something that can manipulate time. OoT, MM, Ages, and LttP were the only one i can remember that had time manipulation. If this game has time travel i can assure you that they will not contradict the Zelda stories by giving a non-hero of time time travel capabilities unless the ocarina itself was involved.

Ocarina of Time Had Time Travel nabs

all right Ocarina of Time.......2!!!!!

Dr Quantum Infinity | February 13, 2010 9:57 PM

I hope they have zora. I also hope they have ocarinas again. It would also be good if they found a way to like Termina to Hyrule. It seemed like link got owned by skull kid in Hyrule then fell down a hole and found a new world. Almost an Alice in wonderland type of thing. It would be good if the storyline revolved around faries.

I say they should continue from TP. The graphics in MM were young-audience based and I really want a more gamer based setting.

Don't get me wrong, MM may have been a good game, but I say TP blows it out of the water. ALTTP was my favorite game until TP came out.

Im not a fan of any of the other ones because they all have someone named "Link" and little or no connection to each other. I want a continued storyline from a newer Zelda game that way we all can understand the timelines better.

Im still trying to figure out what happened with the "Split-timeline" =P

BTW: There was time travel in TP when Link went to the temple of time.

TP was by far the best so far

Things that make a good game:
1st-or-3rd person view.
Free roam.
not turn-based(mostly)

all zelda games have this, but: TP has:

better graphics,
Useful 'friend' (Midna)
as much or more dungeon variety
no wallmasters

Am I the only one who thinks that aside from 2-3 infos, these "leaks" are stuff that you take for granted anyway?

Like the dungeon system, the fact that gameplay is done or that you'll be able to choose hand at the start?

GMFQS_Will_2010 | February 19, 2010 3:04 PM

New rumor just circulated today at my 'job':
The new game will come with an 'Ocarina' controller, basically a sort of mix of the Wii Speak and a Wiimote at the same time, to use when playing songs to travel through time. Additional rumor is that it will somehow utilize the Gamecube controller ports for the Ocarina. It won't be a normal microphone, but will contain wind-motion receptive technology ala some of the DS games.

well if the game is a continuation of MM, maaybe the girl is navi???

LinkIsBeast | March 5, 2010 5:41 PM

I dont really care about the gameplay. It has always been good and always will be. Tweaking it a little is fine but changing a lot would be ruining it. I just wanna know about the storyline and if the master sword is in the game. The master sword is the best one. And the classic.

Ocarina of time II would be sOooooOOo AWESOME!!

kanelives | March 8, 2010 4:42 AM

I haven't played any other games except TP, but I think it would be totally awesome if you could play different characters other than link for portions of the game, because we only ever see things from his perspective. also, i wish they would do a TP sequel, it was such a cool game.

I read all everything up until now. Zelda has placed itself to become the number one game for nentendo. U have to understand everygame if u want to conect them...if this game comes after Majora`s Mask, it will be a game where link (the original from oot)- think about it. A person awakens and starts his journy. He then defeats the big evil. Then sets off on a new journey(mm). Here he finds a new goal and new evil. After the last battle, this person sets off again...but where to? timelines or not here is someone keying us in on the next zelda who could be that same person i just talked about. The game of zelda is mostly about a story. And like all stories, we the consumer gets sucked into, thus making it a total awsome story...The end. by the way doing this on dsi is hard.

thatweirdkidd | March 22, 2010 12:07 AM

ive read all the posts and i like the idea of the girl being navi. think about it we dont kno wut the transition between fairy and "great" fairy is like. im not saying that all fairys turn into great fairys but if u think about it the deku tree chose her to guide link. maybe he knew she was a great fairy. so wut im sayin is she could be halfway between fairy and "great" fairy

sorry for using instant message like typing i know some people dont like it

Hi. New poster here.

I think all this makes sense. If the new game is set a good few years after MM, then it would make sense for Link to have grown up a few years as it shows in the picture. And, like thatweirdkidd said, it would why wouldn't Navi grow up too.

If the new game is set in a different place (other than Hyrule and Termina) then why wouldn't the layout be different. This new world could be home to races that don't use traditional temples.

If this game is a 'sequal' to OoT and MM, then Link would already have the master sword from the start. Is it not possible that, like MM, the Master Sword got stolen and you have to get it back in order to time travel? Or maybe the Master Sword is lost and this new sword with the powers is created to replace it until the Master sword is retrieved?

Hey everybody.

I've been playing zelda games for a long time now; the first game I owned was ALttP, and I think this will make a very interesting addition to the series.

If it is true that this new game has OoT Link, it would make sense that he doesn't have the Master Sword, that he is not in Hyrule, that there is time travel, and the the Girl is Navi.

After MM, Link would still be looking for Navi, so he would travel to different countries than Hyrule and would not have the master sword because he doesn't in MM. Also, OoT Link time travels a lot and is even known as the "Hero of Time".

These are the basic reasons but I have others.

For example, Navi looks a lot like the fairy queen in WW. I think this is because the fairy queen is Navi and like many others said she changed into a great fairy between OoT and this new game.

I know that this may conflict with most of the dozens of split time line theories and probably many of the linear ones too, but I was thinking that maybe the time line splits and then converges at some point. I think this point is after MM.

It would make sense then that Navi is the fairy queen. I don't remember well but doesn't the fairy queen of OoT die? If this is true then Navi could have taken her place and been the fairy queen in WW.

Correct me if I am wrong in any of this.

In Oot, the timeline of zelda slit in two,the adult and child timelines. in the adult, the spirits flooded hyrule to protect it from ganondwarf, which is why there is water in WW, PH, and ST. In the child, there is no flood. MM is the sequel to the child timeline of Oot, and TP is the sequel to MM. This makes it impossible for this new game to be the sequel to MM because there already is one, TP.

Mohawkmate | April 6, 2010 10:32 AM

Yes, but it could easily fit in between MM and TP. I see no reason why not.

Claw of Death | April 7, 2010 7:15 AM

or it can even be after TP

does anybody know who is the "evil" ? or is it ganon?(well, i know that ganon is killed by link in TP, but how many times did he done that in other games ?)

im just asking me why it cant play after TP because midna seals the twilight realm and so why cant it play after TP ?

an btw i like the idea of the girl beeing navi :) it would sound strange to me that link (out of MM)don't find navi....

also i raed an other article that maybe in the newgame link will be able to fly... does someone know s.th. about that ? i would like a flying link but i prefer s.th. with magic and not that ist just a maschine (because we had a boat (WW/PH) than a train (ST) an next woul be a plain...)

please answer if possible

Claw of Death | April 7, 2010 7:17 AM

an sry for writing like that im not from an english spaking country :)

Overall I'm excited for the release of the new game, Zelda Wii (I really hope they change the name to something more creative) but there are some problems that I am concerned about.

The fact that there is a son who looks up to Link (no difference from TP at all) they could have made that character a girl or more complicated then just the same old same old.

The Master Sword won't be in the game, yeah that really bothers me..since in the majority of the prior games the story insists you get the Master Sword as a the ULTIMATE WEAPON or whatever. Since they are (maybe) planning to revive the Hero of Time Link, why take away is legendary sword!?

Just saying; I think it would be awesome if they reincarnated the Dark/Shadow Link character again and made him a larger character, they could really do something with that!

There's more to add, but I can't be bothered to rant anymore. I'm still pumped for the game though!! :D

If the Master Sword isn't in it, then it might take place after A Link To The Past, since the Master Sword is supposed to be dormant after that... but I hope that it is after Majora's Mask, because then Termina might make a return. Wouldn't it be coo to be able to travel between Hyrule and Termina in one game?

Claw of Death | April 20, 2010 3:14 PM

hey i heard that the game title will be : "legend of Zelda: Shadows of Time" is this just a rumor or the real title ?

hoope for an answer soon :)

Claw

Never heard that before, could be possible, but IMO not probable coz it would be a tad unoriginal to make another LoZ game which ended in ".... Of Time". Unless it was really well done fans would crucify the game as another OoT rip-off.

Possibilities I've heard (note POSSIBILITIES) for the stories include:

* The whole MM sequel with the quest for Navi (Navi being the female figure and Link being naturally older)

* A continuation of the Twilight Princess theme and Link's new quest after he sets off at the end

* A game detailing more about the development and back story of fairies

* A game detailing more about the development and back story of the Master Sword

- Just what I've gathered from reading through the above posts.

I like the HoT reappearance. LOVE the alternate land possibility. Am indifferent about the Master Sword. New sword abilities = cool. Time travel only if well done and innovative. (and no, time travel is not limited to having the master sword)

Claw of Death | April 24, 2010 7:11 PM

thanks :)

the rumours about the titel i found on youtube videos but i dont know which......

Claw

Just over 2 weeks of anticipation for e3. Can I borrow anyone's time machine?

i think dark link is in the game

Bolero of Fire | May 3, 2010 5:12 PM

I've seen many people ask the link to this, yet nobody has given it. May we have the link this 2chan rumer.I searched all over the website, which is hard since it's in Japanese. I belive what you are saying, but I want ot use my own translator.

Well... I have mixed feelings about these rumours... I like most of it... just hoping that Zelda is actually in the game... and we already had a kid from a village who looks up to link... Collin...

Yeah, mixed feelings indeed. The game developers had better navigate the fine line between originality and nostalgia with caution and also be careful not to innovate the game too much to the point where it strays from its roots.

I'm starting to feel sorry for them coz they can't satisfy everyone and this game will be ripped to shreds if not 'perfected'.

(about my previous comment, I'm aware that I made a mistake about the timing, thought e3 was in may)

Claw of Death | May 11, 2010 1:29 PM

no proplem mistakes happens :)

but about that it must be perfekt this is the sad thing you just cant satisfy all players.... so you have to try to create s.th. that is loved by the most of them ....

and i think that they will stay by their roots as long as they keep up the dungen, outer world, and the fighing and items simular.... i mean i welcome new fighing moves and so (with wii-motion plus :D )
but i would be realy disappointed if they, for ex., would cut of the sword/horse fights or the dungeon system, i mean the dungeons are (for me) what makes zelda zelda :)

---sry for asking again :P---

say what do you think about the idea of a flying magic vehicle.... linke a paraglider or s.th. like that ? because i liked the idea of the deku-leav in WW but it was annoing that you drop after ca 15 sec... i would like the idea of beeing able to recofer magic in midair :)

so hope you answer soon

Claw

What about a new kind of world that overlaps the "normal" world.... like if there was a device that caused Link to be "out of phase" causing him to be invisible and pass right through most things in the normal world. This could be kinda cool. You could walk to places and discover things, but would need to be back in phase to this world (or dimension) to actually interact with them.

Take it a step further and have all kinds of other creatures, enemies, friends, and buildings that only exist while you're out of phase. It could add a whole other dimension and new mystery directly on top of the world you already know.

I like the idea of a flying mechanic, not necessarily a plane or transformation but something along the lines of an item or environmental flight system.

I also like the concept of a greater overworld, that encomapasses the 'normal world' but the idea of an 'out of phase-in to phase' type thing would just be a rehasing of the 2 separate worlds thing that's been done to death (alttp, oot, tp). I especially see parallels to your concept in TP, where wolf link was 'out of phase' and couldnt interact normally, and then 'in to phase' or in the real world.

Interesting ideas, i cant imagine though what the developers will have in mind, PLEASE MORE EXPLORATION AND A MORE IN DEPTH OVERWORLD!

the Daily Commenter | May 12, 2010 6:30 PM

THE THING IS..., almost every LOZ had something to do with Zelda and Ganondorf and this is getting a bit annoying (with all respect!). Thats why Majora's mask was such a great game, this mysterious ambiance of Majora's Mask is what i sought in a game-genre such as zelda, completly of the normal story-line, it was innovative and creative. Not to mention the beautiful story and and all its wonderful characters that made this game a true CLASSIC!!! that development i'm hoping to see in this new zelda game.

I can't really wait to know what is going on with link's empty hand, u hear the rumors but it's a bit vague and the creator of LOZ is acting kind of mysterious about what's happened to the sword. I'm also still wondering if this will be the sequel of MM, he was looking for an old friend.

Nintendo did a great job btw by just showing a single piece of artwork, makes the people crazy for information and extra willing to buy the game....

stephaniemf | May 13, 2010 11:09 AM

I honestly can't wait for the new zelda game, does anyone know when it will come or at least some legit info? i'm in agonyyy x(

@ stephaniemf

Presently it is TBA for release in Quarter 3 in Japan (chances of it getting delayed to Q4 is likely), and is not yet announced in any other area. However, there have been several conflicting reports, and most of them favor a 2010 fall release. Nintendo has stated many times that they wish to release it this year, and have stated that the release date WILL BE revealed at E3. This is a good indication the game is in it's final stages and is all set to be released this fall. Another idicator to watch out for is a demo.

Should there be a demo at E3, it's almsot certain whatever date they give they will actually hit on.

@everyone else

Glad to see many new faces around here finding these rumors of interest. We'll know soon enough if their is validity to any of them. Stay tuned as we keep everyone up to date on the latest Zelda Wii converage. E3, here we come!

Claw of Death | May 13, 2010 4:55 PM

@ risket :

i like the idea of the overworld, maybe its posible to do this with a smiularyty to the manga from 4SA where there is the shadow wworld where everything exist as a simular shadow....

@ the Daily Commenter :

could you please write what rumors you mean ?

and i agree on the point that it is a bit anoing to have everytime the same "zelda must be rescued" line, but i would like the idea that you could play link AND zelda (its a bit like that in ST) and that ganon is (well not a ally, but) someone who must fight by your side, like in super paper mario, where bowser has to cooperate with mario in order to save the world, but i also know that many wouldn't like that

and a third thing to links empty hand, first is it that hand with the triforce? because you could also think about a "magical" weapon that is summond by the triforce and can get upgraded by collecting force cristals, i mean that the triforce is summoning the items, like the sword, hookshot, bow (more a crossbow assembeld to his arm) or other things (not bottles, cause that would be kind a stupid ;) ) i would hate to lose the old sword fight, but i would like sword warriations, like a sword-whip (a sword that ectend a few meters) or a scythe like version

sry if someone hates me now i know i know that would be very revolutionary and i'm just posting ideas :)

and to my idea of the flying mechanism i mean something like pit's wings in SSBB, which you can activate, fly 5 sec and then have to touch ground befor activated again (in combination with the magic meter it would prohibit the posibility of escaping enemy by always flying or fly back when you fall of a cliff (which happens to me very often n__n" )

well i await your answers :)

Claw

Time travel is cool, but while not actually important gameplay-wise, we need some changing of seasons. the only time an instance of this happening would be in Oracle of Seasons as well as the fishing pond in Twilight Princess. again, I don't mean to want it to actually play a role like in Oracle of Seasons, just give a sort of visual detail like in the fishing pond in Twilight Princess.

Yeah, I agree with you Jonah, added extras like the accurate depiction of the stars in the sky in Twilight Princess were superb. Changing seasons as well as time sensitive events (a la MM and to a lesser extent OoT) would be that little something that brings magic back to Zelda. Speaking of which, magic would also make a nice addition. And expand the overworld plz!

@Ariel Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking, except for the expanded overworld bit. I mean, we don't need another Wind Waker "overworld" where there's a huge place with a whole lot of nothing. :S

nah, i don't mean big and empty, i mean big and busy with activity and actually inhabited

well then yeah, a bigger overworld would be nice then.

Claw of Death | May 15, 2010 1:14 PM

something like the shadow realm in TP but bigger... i mean that there is not only the dungeon part but also a shop, a mini game, a town and a field or an large area where you can rdie with epona :D

but i would prever that the overworld is sosmething like the oposite of huryle (i dont mean changes of colors) but while huryle is a nice country the overworld must be looking different (not like hell or so but different)

If this is the hero of time, then I can't wait till to play the Ocarina of Time with the Wii remote!

Claw of Death | May 18, 2010 2:01 PM

that will be funny :D

and i hope that you will be able to play zelda (not just running around but actually fight :D )

and please read my previous entrys i know that they are long but i got the feeling that you dont read them cause of that ^^

hope for some answers

Hey people, I've read somewhere, can't remember where, how Wii Motion Plus will be incorporated into the game (and note that this is not confirmed, don't believe everything you read).

- Apparently, 1:1 sword combat will only take place when Link is Z-targetting, and the waggle control will be the standard (Like in TP) when Link is not targetting something e.g. running.

- Also, weapons like the Bow (and possibly other Zelda standards; boomerang, and hookshot derivatives) will function in a similar fashion to the Archery game in Wii Sports Resort, with the Wiimote being held vertically, and the nunchuk being pulled back as if you were pulling back the bow string and then releasing*.

*Additional Note: In Wii Sports Resort, the Archery game functioned by pulling the nunchuk back, as described above, whilst holding Z. This could pose an issue on the controls as 'Z' is usually reserved for Z-Targetting. This may be remedied by the holding down of 'c' on the nunchuk instead of 'Z'. - Once again speculation.

I'm not sure how Wii Motion Plus will be implemented in other ways in the gameplay, but I'm sure the developers have thought of many innovative and intuitive ways to do this. Possibly new weapons inspired by the capabilities of the Wii Motion Plus.

Hey people, I've read somewhere, and I can't remember where, about how the Wii Motion Plus function in Zelda Wii will be incorporated. (Note: This is not confirmed but only speculation, I promise I'm not making this up but be cautious and take it with a grain of salt).

- Apparently, with the use of the Wii Motion Plus, 1:1 sword play will be only implemented whilst Link is Z-Targetting, i.e. when focusiing on an enemy or an object. Whilst not Z-Targetting, the standard 'waggle' controls will take effect when Link is not targetting anything (just like in TP) i.e. when Link is running.

- Also, the Bow (as well as possibly some other Zelda standards like the Boomerang and Hookshot derivatives) will handle similar to the Archery game in Wii Sports Resort, with the Wiimote being held vertically and the Nunchuk being pulled back as if pulling back the bow string and then released*.

*Additional Note: In the Archery game in Wii Sports Resort, the Wiimote is held vertically, as above, and the Nunchuk is pulled back while holding 'Z'. This could be an issue in the Zelda world as 'Z' is typically reserved for Z-Targetting. This however could be remedied by substituting 'Z' for the 'C' button on the nunchuk. - Once again, speculation speculation.

I haven't heard anything else about how the Wii Motion Plus will be implemeted in the game, except for the point that the way you kill or strike your enemy could be a possible factor in the game i.e. striking horizontally or vertically, yadda-yadda-yadda. Although there is not much information about further Wii Motion Plus implementation, it can be assumed that the Zelda Wii developers will discover innovative and intuitive ways to implement it into the gameplay. They may even implement new weapons or items specifically designed and inspired by the Wii Motion Plus' capabilities. Let's see at E3...

Sorry about the almost identical comments. Something went wrong and I had to retype my post. Then they both appeared. Sorry.

TriforceHunter | May 23, 2010 11:50 AM

I was just surfing the web today cause i was bored.
I type in on google "zelda wii" and i come across this....
I read through the WHOLE thing.I read about all the arguments and all i could think about is how sad it is.
These games were just meant to be enjoyed nothing more nothing less.
2 or 3 comments is ok but seriously?!You have to have arguments about the "timeline" of the zelda games.
Why can't you just play the games without speculating every single detail of them.
I wish i could look at you people when you get zelda wii and think to yourself "wow why did i waste days of my life arguing about something pointless."

All im saying is just sit back and enjoy the ride don't fight it.

Peace,
TriforceHunter

ok first wow thats a long artitcle and it covers alot of good points but the one thing that kinda ticked me off and made me thinck is...

@ the Daily Commenter

what are you talking about if you know anything aboout LOZ at all then you wouln't have said that bc if i remember correctly then he was never mentioned in I. MM it was Majora II. PH had Bellum III. Vaati was the antagonist in the Minish Cap IV. Vaati returns once again in the Four Swords V. Dethl (a physical manifestation of The Wind Fish's Nightmares) is the antagonist in Link's Awakening ... well i guess you might consider in the final boss battle with Dethl one of her forms is " Gannon's Shadow" but thats only if you really want to get really specific

Plus in TP Gannon is only revealed at the end (as in some of the other LOZ games)

and in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link he is only seen laughing at you when you die.

so there i think i have given plenty of proff of his absences.

sincerely,
Midnafan

@ TriforceHunter

So what if people speculate, let them, some of them might be right. These games are good enough to deserve speculating about, they evoke a sense of wonder and adventure as well as kick-ass stories and puzzles. It acts as a way to prolong the experience and should be embraced if they want to.

If you think it's obsession, then yeah, you might be right, but not all of it is obsession. Merely general well deserved chit-chat and discussion. I can see how the angrier posters seem obsessed, but that's coz there's heaps to obsess about. It may not be healthy, but that's not everyone. There are individuals within the whole who have a perfectly healthy fascination with the Zelda world.

Plus, I doubt your innocence. I can see how you've stumbled across this site due to its high Google rating, but for someone who's that opposed to the speculation to read the entire article and every comment seems just a tad hypocritical (just look at the friggin scroll bar!). To top it all off, your name is TriforceHunter, sure you're a perfectly innocent bystander to the going ons if the Zelda community (I said sarcastically). Stop trolling. This is sadder than anything else, going out of your way to tell people off.

The Daily Commenter | May 26, 2010 4:53 AM

@ MIDNAFAN

with all respect, I'm aware of what you're sayin', and I agree Ganon does not always appear, but the zelda-ganondorf image is thé most copied storyline in LOZ. Look, I've been playin LOZ back in the time when you had the NES and the classic CD-I and I can tell Ganon DID was mentioned in LOZ I (that's where you first meet him), also in the adventure of link, and so does he in LttP, OoT, WW, Four Swords, and at last Twilight Princess. BUT, obviously u probably didn't know about Wand of Gamelon that came out on the CD-I, where u actually have to play as zelda and u try save link, again (!), from Ganon. And then u have a sort of same storyline in Link: Faces of Evil and Zelda's Adventure, but then saving zelda from Ganon. Besides, Ganondorf is defeated in WW, but still has his influences in Phantom hourglass.
The point i'm tryin to make is that I don't wan't to spent my time working my way to Ganondorf again in LOZ (except those others without doubt), I have defeated that friggin' guy enough times, u feel me?
blame me if I sound hostile, that's the last thing I want :), because I admire you're interest and those of others. Besides, I don't blame anyone, LoZ litterally deserves the title of being 'The Legend' of Zelda. Just hoping the next LoZ will prove to continue it's legend...

Yours Truly,

"•Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities."

I have a vauge memory of this coming up a while ago, the sword will take the place of extra items to simplify the controls, so instead of getting the boomarang the sword will get a boomarang style abilitie and so on.

if its done well great but if not and theres an auto select it could ruin alot of puzzles.

the Daily Commenter | May 28, 2010 7:43 AM

@ tunlaw

the makers said they will not bring the game out until it's perfect, so don't worry about that ;)

i heard that there was supposed to be voice acting in this one.

If there's no Hero of Time, or even the Master Sword for Christ's sake, then what's the point of it being part of the Zelda chain? I understand "Creativity" as so put, but there's got to to be some basic story line that relates to the others. To put it simply, Wind Waker was NOT a well developed game because it didn't relate to any other Zelda game and the graphics were not highly favorable. If it has nothing to do with the Legend of Zelda's (besides a little boy running around cloaked in green) then count me out.

@Callie

K, WW was an awesome game and how can you say it didn't relate to any Zelda game? It had Hyrule castle, princess Zelda, Ganondorf, the master sword, and lots of dialogue from the king of hyrule AND ganondorf supporting the existance of the Hero of Time. The opening credits WAS the story of OoT, and the entire story revolved around the story of OoT. So you totally just contradicted yourself by saying WW had no connection to the master sword, or the hero of time. The graphics are debatible! Many think they are the best graphics to date in the series, and many dislike them. I loved the creativity in WW, TP bored me because it was so much like past games. I've beaten all 15 official titles to date and if they DONT use "creativity", then the series will get very stale.

@amber

I hope so, it would be nice to hear some voice acting.

this whole thing about using the wii motion+ for swordfighting really makes me excited.
i always wanted the swordfighting in zelda games to be more realistic....well i guess i got my wish
the horseback combat seems pretty cool...as of new news, i think the fact that link will hav a new weapon is cool cuz im getting kinda tired of the "hook/clawshot, boomerang and bow and arrow" things for weapons
it would b good to hav sumthing new
overall i think this will be the best zelda game!!
cant wait until E3!!!!!!

It was good speculating with you guys. Any other rumors you wanna spread before the E3 Zelda-flavored bomb goes off? Here's some:

- Link's sword will shoot hamster pellets when swung.
- Zelda will be her youngest incarnation yet, appearing as a sarcastic 11 year old.
- The game will not take place in Hyrule, but, will instead take place in San Francisco.
- Link will move in to his friend's apartment and accidentally kill his fish.
- The entire soundtrack will only feature remixes of the Tetris theme.

interesting post, pretty much covered it all for me, thanks.

Watch your mouth Nathanial or whoever you are. The term jap is politically incorrect and therefore offensive.
