It seems Miyamoto is everywhere talking recently, as he happens to be in New York this week. We may hear more from him as the week rolls on. This short clip talks about Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass, then an interesting small note about Zelda Wii.
"It's really fun to move your body around." - Shigeru Miyamoto on Zelda Wii.
What does this mean? Sounds like we may be getting some heavier motion going in the next console installment. He also mentioned that he wanted to build off of what Phantom Hourglass did with Spirit Tracks, with tighter controls and a little more fun. Too bad only my sister was the only one who seemed to like that game.

Now that I think about it, Miyamoto is holding a keynote on Saturday, I think it is mostly going to be more "We are richer than Scrooge McDuck" with a revelation of the new Mario game - but a man can hope.
I wish I had more than ten fingers and toes so I could cross them.
I’m still hoping for a lasso.
Oh really? I didn't know I was somebody's sister.
That thing about Zelda Wii and having to move around... With my legendary agility (read clumsiness), I might get hurt.
This is going to be fun.
...The fact that it'll be more challenging to avoid both monsters and whatever my house puts in my way (with two dogs, two cats and all their toys... it'll be a challenge), not the pain I'll feel when I trip.
Pain is bad D:
*Eagerly waits for a Zelda Wii trailer*
Can't wait for Spirit Tracks either. I truly don't think it'll be anything revolutionary, but it'll feel like a family reunion to me.
Yes, my uncle is a train. o.0

There are no bad ideas, only bad implementations. Zelda Wii with more motion controls can be an addition or a subtraction from the entire package - creating a game is so damn complex that putting the pieces and mechanics together doesn't follow a more=better rule.
I don't think we have enough to go on to be worried or excited as of yet. There is no doubt a degree of separation between Nintendo decisions and customer desires, but such a situation cannot continue if Nintendo wants to be profitable.
The next rumored Mario game Charles Martinet hinted at on Twitter is important to watch - if it is 3D then Nintendo is still overlooking customer desires, but if it is 2D it is a sign that they are learning.
What I'm actually interested in is info on when we can see something tangible on the game - isn't there supposed to be some business summit yet to be given a date this year? 'Cause I am NOT repeat NOT waiting for E3 2010!
